So recently things have been looking up for me (legitimate commissioners, instead of failed scammers), and therefore I've decided I will be making a game in the new year.
Since I am a noob at programming, I'll be using GameMaker Studio to do it.
However, what I need is a nice concept for a 2D game that is original and fun to play.
Anything I come up with is so complicated it would take a dedicated team of 6 people to create.

So I'm asking YOU to come up with an idea for me.

The top 3 best ideas will receive a 1000x1000 piece of terrain from me, made with worldpainter. They can decide completely what they want it to be like (within Worldpainter's technical limits of course), and I will treat it as a normal commission and try to get it done as quickly as possible.
They will also receive concept credit in the complete game, which may take quite a while to complete.

Note that I would appreciate an attempt to go beyond more than 1 sentence. I would really like to know the basic characters, goals and level structure you would give it, as well as suggestions for an art style.

NOTE: Any pieces of terrain will be editable and resell-able, the only thing you cannot do is to have made it yourself.
NOTE #2: does not need to be christmas related ;P
NOTE #3: if I get less than 6 entries there will be only 1 winner.
ends on 31 december

Something 'christmasy' like maybe... like your a snowman and you can shoot snowballs at penguins that try to kill you. There will be waves of penguins and they will get faster and faster. A score will be kept and it will be very addicting :p

This is rather a basic idea, which can go up to a complex idea if you learn more features of Game Maker.

Characters Name: Jerry or Tom? (No idea, feel free to change if you don't like - just going to refer the main character as "Jerry")

Initial Story: Jerry is a survivor in the zombie played world, the purpose of the game is survival.

Level 1: You'll start off with a simplistic hand-looking weapon of some sort, fighting zombies and other monsters (Recommend 2 for first level), upon killing you would receive rewards as credits which could be used later in the game.

Theme: Maybe the game could be updated, during Winter the Zombies are white with Santa hats or something, During Halloween all black with Pumpkin Heads, Etc.

Purchasing Credits: Game too hard? Offer out purchaseable credits through PayPal or something if you plan on making this public - and it does get popular/addictive.

What can be used with these Credits: Armor, Stronger Weapons, Jackpot System (Machine where you submit money, see if you could occupy a good/bad reward from), Skins, Safehouse Areas, Map unlocks.

A bit challenging...
Offer more Gamemodes! The leveling system I would consider as a Story Mode, eventually "Jerry" will meet other survivors "Jessica, Vincent, Etc." in the world? Warehouses/Houses would be kept as Safehouses where ammo may be refilled or powerups, etc.

Last "Levels" could be with "Master bosses" that are over powered or such.

Create a "Challenging Mode" - Where waves of Zombies/Monsters invade, leave all maps available to the player.

For starting off - I recommend making a small story mode with like 5 levels, a simple map, and watching some YouTube videos for advice on anything. The "Challenging Steps" should be done once you've gotten more experienced and such I guess. Good luck!

FIRST GAME

A game where a line ( or something idk ) is moving straight and there is a maze, the arrow keys are used to control where it turns to (left up right down) and you have to navigate it through the maze (touching walls = dead)

as levels get higher the walls get closer(dont know if this makes sense but basically you have to move more as the turns are closer to each other)

could have power ups that slow down time, give an extra life in case you mess up, etc

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

SECOND GAME

A game where there is a circle on a rope constantly spinning and randomly a circle spawns and you have to click at the time the circle spinning overlaps the circle that spawned, points add up and it gets faster as it goes

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

if i think of something ill also mention it, for now these two are all i can think of that would be kinda fun and addicting (at least to me)

Game name: The game would be called "The Escapee"
Characters: Bill (The escapee), Antherax (alien overlord), Tridor (Alien2) Spawn (Little alien creatures)
Plot: Bill has been captured by aliens and needs to escape, he blacks out and awakes with super powers, he uses his newly acquired powers to run away from the spaceship however the aliens try to recapture their toy. (easy level fighting through spaceship)
When Bill completes the level he finds a computer terminal which teleports him back to earth, he must travel across streets fighting the spawn, on his way he can recruit other characters to help him.
After fighting through numerous buildings Bill fights Antherax the alien overlord, if he wins he completes the game, looses and has to retry the level.

Hahaha, We have done business before. I would love it if you could make the terrain for the second level of SAO. It would really help the server get started and into beta as soon as possible!

(that's a tiny tad bigger than this giveaway though. or the sum of all terrain in general). I'll still do it, but it'll take a while.
