Good start man! What program do you use may I ask?
Maybe a few tips, so far your letters like decently clean, but still a little pixelated. Try to get them more modern. If you use Photoshop or similar, use a bigger canvas to remove pixelation. Maybe try to use a vector (pen tool) if you can as it would make them cleaner. I would also use a palette generator like http://paletton.com/ to get better color combinations. Try to go more pastel to make them more modern. As well as this depending on the letter, try to get the thickness equal size around the letter, avoid squishing them. If you can, add a stroke (outline) on some of them to contrast them from the background. The JN one you did with that specific pattern is personally my favorite as it looks pastel, and could work as a modern logo. Just the pixelation is an issue. For the rest, maybe try work on some letter 3D (look it up if you don't know how) using perspective, other than that use better, more pastel colors and make them cleaner around the edges to make it more modern and clean. But good strat, and respect to you for doing free stuff, it's hard. (Speak from experience haha.)
