Often i see people asking for help on here to ensure cannons work on their server and such, or even how to fix cannons so they work. They always get a reply from a user selling a "custom cannon jar" for a crazy price, and those users always end up getting tricked into buying them since they have little knowledge of cannoning and the processes, and personally i'm tired of it. So i decided to make this thread, here is a free configuration where cannons will always work on a 1.8 server:

1. Download the latest Tacospigot 1.8.8 jar file https://yivesmirror.com/downloads/tacospigot
2. Drag jar into a server folder and set it up like you would with any other jar
3. There should be a few configuration files generated like taco.yml, paper.yml, etc.
4. Go to paper.yml file and make the following changes:
- Change fix-cannons to "true"
- Change disable-explosion-knockback to "true"
- Under "load-chunks" change:
tnt-entities to "true"
falling-blocks to "true"
- Under "remove-unloaded" change:
tnt-entities to "false"
falling-blocks to "false"
5. Go to spigot.yml and make the following changes:
- change max-tnt-per-tick to "5000"

And thats it, once saved and server has been reloaded cannons will guaranteed to be working unless you have a plugin interfering (e.g. anti-lag plugins, etc.). There are so many other things you can edit like optimise tnt explosions and such, but these changes are the basics. Also, things like max-tnt-per-tick you may want to edit based on player demands and such.
