Hello, everybody!
Today we have many new changes to the site and results to the recent Water.org fundraiser and the ‘2016’ theme MC-Market Competition!
Water.org Fundraiser Results
I am very proud to announce that as a community we were able to raise a whopping $3,350.00 USD, which is 655% over our goal of $511.06 USD. I also promised that whatever amount of money we raised I would personally match, so that means I am also donating $3,350.00 to the cause which will make our total $6,700.00 USD raised for people in need of water and sanitation all throughout the world.
This is an absolutely tremendous feat for MC-Market as a whole, and it wouldn’t be possible without all of the great people who donated to the cause. Most notably, people who went above and beyond by donating more than $23.23 were:
- TechBanana donating $1,148.50 USD! All profit from commissions from his art shop went directly to the fundraiser, which was very, very nice of him! A link to his shop can be found here http://www.mc-market.org/threads/30951/, please buy some of his art!
- Tabbin who donated $200 USD
- lAkjtzAZ0 donated $100 USD
- Kylew donated $83.80 USD
- Justis who donated $73.38 USD
- Glove who donated $53.23 USD
- Hayden donated $53.23
- Struggle donated $35 USD
- MTG donated $4 USD
A full list of people who donated $23.23 is as follows:
Jkaay, Zylendia, 34010, asa, Deleted User 50255, Boycot, Bullet, Chearful, Coco, Colton, TS3, Chance, Cry, XerisAU, Star, Devin, Doge, Deleted User 17178, ElectronicWizard, EntityHosting, Fastened, FatTaco, Seb, faraday, UncleCole, Ricky Lafleur, Glove, Misaki, Hayden, Heps, Isaac, Jad, Croc, JJDAHM, Justis, Kylew, Lost Creations, M6Gaming, matthewp, Madbegger, Marquis, Marth, Taiga, MCTrollers, morganjp, Habin_Is_Cool, Neomiyah, OpKits, Pazzword, Potters, y0jJJyeDYzRTYomFX, Rated., Samuel, Seb1, Sheep1, SilentChad, Dragoons, Rasprix, lAkjtzAZ0, Sloth, 21217, Spade, Struggle, subbotted, Tabbin, TechBanana, TK720, z t, Valk, n0tzach, VinnyV, Walmart, Walrus, K e v i n, Yue, Zayn, ZDesigns, and Zeiyon

Competition Winners
Between the 25th of December 2015 and the 8th of January 2016 we hosted a contest with the theme of ‘2016’. We received many great entries so it was definitely difficult to choose a winner, but after each member of the staff team filled out the rubrics and submitted them for us to decide on a winner.
Each contest winner has been sent a private message and their work will be displayed below.
First Place: TechBanana
Tech drew up an amazing landscape full of 2016 references, from the obligatory me chopping down a lemon tree, all the way to the Olympics. His art was absolutely incredible. In the spoiler below you can see the art as well as an annotated version by him explaining it all.
Second Place: DiabloTurtle
Diablo built up a very fancy world called ‘Remembrance’ for the contest. It is a bedroom that includes references to the release of Battlefield 1, the obligatory lemon tree, and even harambe makes an appearance!
He released a bunch of fancy renders and a cinematic of the build on his PlanetMinecraft post about it, which can be found here: http://www.planetminecraft.com/project/remembrance-luxstudios/
Third Place: twinightcreep0
Twinightcreep created a song for the contest, which was a very bold and unexpected entry! The song he made does not only have cool lyrics, but it also has his rapping/singing in it. Below I have embedded the YouTube video for his entry, and also included the lyrics if you wish to sing along!
Lyrics:
We lost David Bowie, Willy Wonka, David Gest and Snape.
RIP Harambe the worlds' greatest ape.
We said goodbye to Carrie Fisher, Ronnie Corbett too.
Taking all these people 2k16 screw you.
We all sat by our TV's with our hands over our face.
As we cried and cringed at the American debate.
The clowns were roaming free everywhere outside
And PewDiepie hit 50 mil but that no was no surprise.
2016's over now and thank god that it's done.
No more stupid bottle flips or we are number one. (WE ARE NUMBER ONE HEY!)
We wave goodbye to Hillary but there's nothing we can do.
I hope this year is good, not 2016 point two.
A random guy came on our screen Pen Pineapple Apple Pen
People turned into mannequins and got into the zen.
Donald Trump took over and we saw Obama go.
The temperature is now so high that there's no chance of snow.
The Zika virus bought nothing more than dread.
And people reacted to finding out that Vine was dead.
Pokemon returned and we played it everyday.
The iphone 7 hit the stores without a headphone jack. Really APPLE?!?!!
2016's over now and thank god that it's done.
Great Britain came second but the USA won.
The UK had a vote and left the EU.
We heated all our knives up and cut right through.
But 2016, were you really all that bad?
I remember all the laughs and the fun times that we had.
Just because these things happened, does it mean it sucked?
Yes. It sucked. It really really sucked.
As well as Donald Trump Theresa May came into place.
All these people dying decreased the human race.
Wildfires raged all throughout the towns.
Currencies are worthless, especially the pound.
All the awful weather hit us right in the face
We saw the solar eclipse in September up in space.
It was George Michael's last Christmas, and then we saw him go.
Definitely by now, we all know:
2016 was awful, the worst year that there's been.
This year has been so horrible and terrible stuff we've seen.
But 2017, there are good times to be had.
Lets just hope and prey, it's not equally as bad.
There was an absolutely incredible effort from everyone for this contest, congratulations to the people that have won! If the award winners could send me a PM that would be fantastic so we can discuss their prize!

New Support System
One of the largest problems with the duties the staff team does is definitely the Support Request system we have, and that is due to the inefficiencies and essentially the poor design of the system, so a few days ago we released a new one! The new system we have now alerts staff when a ticket is assigned to them, leading to faster response times, as well as a few other cool features.
Updates to Accounts
As of the 1st of February 2017, we are no longer going to put an asterisk in the username of the accounts that you sell. If you would like to discuss this change further then please create a Support Ticket with our fancy new system!
Warning Point Rebalance
Over the past few months, the moderation team and I have been redeveloping and rebalancing the warning points for punishments on the site. The largest change we made with this is that we changed the threshold for a permanent ban down from 110 points to 75. Generally with this new system, we have made it so that many more warnings expire too, so hopefully, this will make for a more fair system.
Rules Rebalanced
We have modified the language used in our rules, most notably, all are now phrased in an easy to understand, concise and consistent “do not” format. Detailed clarifications on how some more complex rules are enforced have also been made clearer through splitting into child rules.
Social Media Accounts Forum
It’s finally here, we have now introduced the Social Media accounts forum after it was heavily suggested. Now all accounts for games such as Clash of Clans have been moved to the other forum to make room for Snapchat, Instagram, Twitter, and any other sections that are suggested to us. Right now there are still a bunch of threads in this forum, but over the next few days the moderators and I will work on moving everything to its correct section.
Unblocked by Imgur
After about a year of being blacklisted from imgur.com, I managed to get us unblocked by sending them a quick message. Yay!
Onyx Bug Reports
In the Suggestions forum we have made a new subform for y0jJJyeDYzRTYomFX and @Explodified’s Onyx Chrome Addon (http://onyx.mc-market.org/). In this forum they have the ability to lock and change the prefix of the threads so they are able to handle any bugs or suggestions you have for their addon.
Server Status on Homepage
As you may have noticed we now have the status of the MC-Market Server (play.mc-market.org) in the sidebar of the homepage. It displays the server IP, amount of people online, and even the head of the people online, how fancy!
Upcoming
Recently you may have seen a bunch of new medals assigned to me, and they were all created by the wonderful Coco for a revamp we hope to push out in the next couple of days for all medals. Earlier in the week, we hinted at yearly medals being introduced, but sadly our current medals system is not efficient to do that, so we're putting yearly medals on hold for a few months at least.
A few days ago we enabled BlockScript once again, which was the system we have used in the past to detect and prevent people from accessing MC-Market on a VPN or TOR network. In a few days, we will have an addon created by Lyphiard introduced to allow Supreme users to bypass this limitation on accounts, which not only adds another perk to their rank but also will certainly cut down on ban-evading on the site greatly.

We have many other plans for the future and are working hard at making other innovative features for the site, while still consistently holding fundraisers, contests, server events, and giveaways. If you have any concerns with any of the changes made, please don’t hesitate to ask for support through our fancy new ticket system.
Thanks,
Mick
