I had a really funny experience with a scammer today. I thought I'd share it here.
Context
This guy in the video contacted me on steam asking to buy $350 in CS:GO skins for $400. (which is suspicious already) He gave me his discord, and we called a bit later. I can't show screenshots for this unfortunately because he blocked me.
He talks to me about pricing and tries to convince me he's legit and trustworthy. The first thing he shows me is his PayPal, which has $7,500 in it. I noticed quickly that his balance switched from $26 to $7,500. I didn't point this out, however, because I already knew just based on how he acted that he was trying to scam me; I wanted to waste his time. I tell him to refresh it again, and I catch the fake balance's font noticeable switching. (which doesn't happen with Paypal balances as far as I know)
Next, the scammer tried to convince me he was legit by showing me his 'confirmed deals' on steam. The thing that I realized again, however, was that he was using a different account than the one he added me on. This is the account he added me on, remember the ID. While he was going through his trade-offers, I managed to snatch a screenshot of the ID of the account he was using. The two IDs are different.
After telling him I didn't have a PayPal, he said okay and he said he'd buy some bitcoin and contact me later. 30 minutes after this, he calls me on discord again and starts screen sharing. This is what happened afterwards: (sorry for lack of audio)
Moral of the story, be careful with scammers. (especially the Steam ones.) I've lost too many things to scammers already.
