Hi, I'm Tom, a web developer, my portfolio is https://tom-croft.com. I've been in the industry a couple years.

I've noticed the recent influx in low effort service teams being opened, looking for a quick buck or two. I was wondering if anyone would be interesting on working on a new team that is actually unique, here's a few of my ideas: (Note this is not me advertising a team just seeing if anyone would want to join me in this endeavor)
  • Purchasing and quoting done through a website, not through a Discord bot
  • Discord purely used for staff communication (webhooks... lots of webhooks) and maybe a bit of client discussion
  • Hiring only the very top skilled designers, developers, writers etc. (Lot's of teams are full of professionals with 1 week of experience)
  • Terms that are fair for both the customer and the freelancer.
Don't get me wrong, there are some amazing teams with amazing people managing them, I'm in a few but there are also a lot of low effort teams which go stale after a week or so.

Let me know your thoughts, I'm not recruiting freelancers, mainly just looking if anyone would want to join me on this endeavor and maybe invest in ads or assist with the development of backend systems (I am prioritising current work over this)

Thanks for your time,
Tom - Web Developer

Your main market would have to be outside of MCM if you wanted to truly create a professional service team. But yeah, sounds like a good idea. However, you gotta remember that execution is 9x as important as the idea, so it's really all dependent on how you execute this project.

I agree with what you say, I understand that a lot of new teams are low effort, you know quickly slap a ticket bot in a Discord server and launch. If this was to go ahead I would put in hours upon hours to ensure it was top notch in both user experience and design
