Thread Title
Gaming and General use laptop under £1000

Prize name
$1 PayPal F&F

Requirements and other relevant information
I am in need of a general use laptop/ gaming laptop which costs under £1000 but can run games at a good fps (not max graphics). The aesthetics of it doesn't matter and the weight also doesn't. It should also be able to run photoshop, AI etc. But I'm assuming it could already to this if it can run games. I already have some ideas of the laptop I want but it can't hurt to have more suggestions.

End date

Preferably looking for someone with some knowledge rather than sticking in google "top gaming laptops under £1000". I will pick the winner based on which I feel has been most helpful and makes my shortlist.

hi RazzerGFX xD , my friend bought this exact laptop and he can run CS:GO 150+ FPS (high settings) and bo3 i think around 100+ medium-high settings,

laptop : http://store.hp.com/UKStore/Merch/Product.aspx?id=1DM39EA&opt=ABU&sel=NTB (£929)

there is a cheaper alternative but its a big downgrade on the processor;

http://store.hp.com/UKStore/Merch/Product.aspx?id=1AN98EA&opt=ABU&sel=NTB (£805)

it is depending on what you want to do with the laptop , like more gaming based or just overall , the £930 laptop is better for gaming based and the £805 if you know your not gonna game that much.

Macbook or Mac laptops? they'd be good for gaming/general
Good for gaming? Not at all... Half the games can't even be run and if they can they will be very low settings and they will have to be very optimized to play well. For a gaming laptop buying a mac is just burning money.
I will recommend the Acer-VX5-591G, although it is around $50 over your budget. https://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/model/NH.GM4AA.001
It comes with around 16GB of DDR4 ram, but this can be upgradable to 32GB, which would be overkill. 16GB is already a lot of RAM which will help with editing on After Effects and will help you run Photoshop faster. The CPU is the Intel i7-7700hq, which is a processor that will run anything you throw at it. The graphics card is the 1050ti, which has 4GB of VRAM which is more than enough for a laptop. The 1050ti is comparable to the 980 (http://gpuboss.com/gpus/GeForce-GTX-970-vs-GeForce-GTX-1050-Ti). Now the storage is only a 256GB SSD, which honestly isn't enough for you. So instead of looking for a different laptop because it has more storage, just buy a cheap external hard drive, https://www.amazon.com/stream/ref=n...ff-416d-ba81-2469d0f5b239&pf_rd_i=navbar-4201, this one is 1tb. Now you're paying $1100 for a laptop that is very good.
