Don't plan on putting all the parts anywhere? There's no case.

8 GB ram; OP is asking for help, please specify what kind of ram.

@OP Please buy an SSD.

And make sure your PSU is from a good brand.

Just get an i5 and a 960. Can runs most games at 1080. Get the right parts to fit it all in, you can get it for under $1000

Hello, MC-M user(s),

I would like to suggest to you a few things for your PC that might help you. The games you play specifically require heavy single-core CPU performance and your ability to install shaders and more high-quality texture packs in Minecraft as well as playing high details in Counter-Strike will be dependant on your GPU.

The first thing is don't be biased. You'll have all these people overmaxxing their PCs to play Fallout 4 on a 12k resolution who will tell you "omfg buy intel you noob," but that's a falsality. You're going to look at "price per performance" and what you can do with the money you have. I suggest bullding your PC in this order:
  1. GPU
  2. Mother Board
  3. CPU
  4. SSD/HDD Storage
  5. RAM
  6. PSU
  7. After-market Cooling
  8. Case
  9. Accessories (cords)
Extra things to note:
  • 144Hz Monitor is prefered, but stay above 60Hz
  • For this priced build, you'll probably get more put of a good performing single-core AMD CPU than an i3-i7 of similar benchmarks
  • I recommend Crucial Ballistix Sport RAM. I'm currently using a 4GBx3 DDR3 configuration in my current build.
  • Fully modular power supply, always.
  • Try to get an SSD as large as you can, but don't be weary of packing a 1TB+ HDD in (look for the Seagate Barricuda series)
This is all I have for you. If you have any more questions or would like me to compile an example build for you, please, let me know via PM or Skype at live:kennyscolts2.

EDIT 1: Threw this together on mobile, kind of bad, but you see what I'm going for here, http://pcpartpicker.com/p/wrDdLk

EDIT 2: Check LinusTechTips on YouTube and their forums for a lot of computer related help!

Also, OP;

MCM is a forums about Minecraft. Half of these people don't know what they're talking about. There's plenty of great builds on YouTube and other parts of the web that have a price. Just find a monitor you like and subtract that from the total.

This method is much better because you get to see how it will look and how it will perform.
