Gazamo is a well respected BT for Minecraft since 2011 to 2017. They were gone for a year now, but now they returned! Yay. Whats their first return tweet? Possibly an inspirational quote? A good old classic comeback to the MC community? Nope. This.
In case if you don't know what they're referring to, they're talking about this build battle compared to their old Build Battles.
The creator of this video, Trooper and the one who hosted it, really admired Gazamo. He took some inspiration.
I agree, its a close resemblence. But first of all, Gazamo stopped the series a long time ago. Second, he even said that he doesn't own the build battle, so why dufuq do you care to tweet that, you could've spent some time tweeting about a new years.
Anyways, Trooper found the person behind this, and decided to settle it in private.
I'm not that kind of person, so I'm not going to reveal the discord profile, but here's the text.
It does indeed seem like a good offer. But uh... you can obviously tell some bullshit if you look closely.
First, you cannot copyright the Build Battle if you don't own it. Along with the fact that standard Youtube fair use doesn't extend to uh... "similar concepts". A minecraft lets play, cannot copyright another minecraft lets play unless if the other is directly using the exact same video. Even if the other video has the same attributes as the first video such as him going through punching trees and commenting on how physics makes no sense, the voice is different. It's two different people playing the same game and coincidentally doing the same thing and saying the same thing. You can't copyright someone for that.
Second, you can tell he wants to milk money.
Not to mention, Gazamo says that the intro for the Build Battles are 1:1 scale, but that makes no sense. To have an announcer is extremely common in any type of competition, so I have no idea how you can claim that as your own idea.
What about Hypixel build team build battle? Is that copied?
But Trooper declined. Which lead to the tweet never being deleted. Someone else seemed to join in the drama too. Trying to expose.... Meraki?

Good question! Answer to your question is.... he does work for Meraki. The website was made by 1amDev . (p.s great work keep it up) The basic layout of the website was created. But alot of ipsum texts were there. So I decided to add some pictures to make it more dynamic. Same thing with the team page, I added a small portion of the team to it, and not all.
Its a simple misunderstanding. But guess who took advantage of this immediately? Gazamo.
