Hey all,

I've been considering for a while to get into messing with Dedicated servers and VPS and how to set such up to create VPSs on a machine to be able to sell them in WHMCS as an example and just learn the backend to be more useful to my employer.

I've been working in the hosting market for a good amount of years now and only specialized in cPanel and some Gameservers so far and I would love to broaden my knowledge in the market.

Do any of you know of any site that has courses for this like you can learn to code on example CodeAcademy, Udemy, and other sites? or maybe youtube videos or guides? I haven't really been able to find anything.

Thanks in advance

Just try doing it honestly, maybe not WHMCS, but trying getting a machine and installing and using the things you can. Learn the basics before hand and make your life 10x easier.

Unless you already have sys admin experience, please do not sell VPS hosting. I don't mean this in a rude way, but selling hosting when you have hardly any idea what you're doing (or if you don't at least work with someone who does) just hurts your clients.

The best way to learn is just to do, honestly - just try to do random things. That's how I learned, tbh. Get a VPS and just fuck around with random shit, eventually you learn more. Alternatively, work with someone who does know what they're doing and they may be able to help you learn how to do shit.

If you want a VPS to mess around with, lmk and I'll give you one for free for a month or so (or go with a cheap provider like AWS or OVH). If you want a dedicated server to mess around with, I recommend:
Nexril
LevelOneServers
Ready2Frag
OVH
SoYouStart
Hetzner (if you don't care about using EU locations)
AdvinServers (resells from multiple providers at a discount, and provides pretty good support)

Oh, I have no intention of selling them myself, regarding VPSs themself I have no issues with those and have used VPSs myself for years and sort of know the ins and outs as I work with them daily at my employment + a bunch of it is just normal windows shit. It's only the backend I don't know of them and want to learn, how to set a dedicated server up to be able to host the VPSs on etc. etc.

I appreciate the offer for a VPS though!

OVH isn't really cheap and there's better alternatives. But, regardless I'd love a VPS if you're offering one (for free) like 3GB or less of RAM is all I need. It's for a school project.

Add my discord: Xeify#9155 if you'd like to discuss further.

OVH is reasonably cheap (but there's definitely alternatives), I just suggested it since its one of the most well known :)
