Give me motivation

Hi,

I'm just looking for some people that can help me get some motivation so I can publish my own prison setup in the resources page on MC-Market. I just cannot seem to find enough motivation to work on this kind of setup and would like to receive some kind of assistance in this.

EDIT: Money is not something that can motivate me. I have always done commissions because I like doing them (whenever I got motivation) and not because I get money from it - to me, money is just "bonus" I guess.

The best motivation when working on setups for me is working with a cool developer that is willing to split the project with you because if you can implement your own cool ideas into a setup and make something unique and fun, that's super rewarding.

Taking frequent breaks, don't let yourself burn out and if you're not trying to make money then take your time, not only will you provided a higher quality product but you won't feel rushed. Even if you work on a setup and leave it for a week to take some mental space it's not going anywhere.

In regards to prison, the main elements are the most key. Having custom enchants, not just normal ones but ones with unique ideas, are super important. Obviously things to do with mining but also remember that prisons can get boring very quickly, nature of the gamemode so building up things for example like duels or mini events that players can take a break from mining but still a achieve something such as rewards is something that setups really need to start including otherwise all setups end up the exact same and what makes one better from another?

So my motivational comments are, be creative and enjoy it because that's the main thing, don't rush it or force ideas, open a google document and play around with ideas, ask friends or use the forums for inspiration, ask communities what they want to see from the next generation of prison setups and see what you can build.

Yeah, I wouldn't publish a prison setup with no custom features - I would definitely get a developer to work on some features for sure. But I wouldn't want to split the project with anyone since I just feel it would cause too much arguments with the partner eventually. I would much rather just pay for the custom features directly out of my own pocket since I do believe that the setup would be making the money back.

I have plenty of ideas for the server, I like to think myself to be amazing at brainstorming ideas for prison since it has always been my favorite gamemode. I just don't have the motivation to configure these features into the game at the moment for some reason.

No for real tho, I think I might help.
Are you someone who is motivated via Intrinsic activities like mastery and autonomy. Learning new things and accomplishing achievements along the way.
Or are you an Extrinsic who thinks motivated should be achieved via reward and social acceptance?

Because in life people tend to lack motivation because something is not truly fulfilling one's life and it makes them feel down and truly sluggish. If you can find that one thing in your life or try something new and get a laugh out of it then you might be able to get motivation.
Sometimes in life, I usually go bicycling when I am tired to explore new things by myself then come home with nostalgic energy.

Whenever I need motivation to finish a project I just try to imagine the finished result and how cool it would be. Another trick I use is to think of more and more ideas related to the project that would be nice to have and that really hypes me up. Money isn't a motivation for me either but the reaction of the client liking my work is! But if you can not get any motivation in take a break, relax you'll get some soon enough!

Facts. Already got some progress done on the setup, hoping to release it by the end of next month.

You have likely spent more time sleeping than waking up and doing something and your days are finite. Do something you can feel now, nothing that relates to things in the past or the future like "AWWW MAN I COULD have DONE THIS BETTER" or "2.213 YEARS FROM Now I will bake potatoes!" Those are going to confuse you, and stress out our mind cus of anxiety, uncertainty, and a sense of failure especially past mistakes you made still lingers in your mind. Feel the now, and do what you want to do right now. You have a crush ask her out instead of waiting out for a whole century, work out, do anything you want that you could do right now. Cus by the time you realize you haven't done enough, you might not have the opportunity to do the things you want to do ever again.

I have made a lot of servers and made a few setups for a few people, always done everything alone. What keeps me going is the people.
Probably hard to know what i mean with that but.

What i do, when ever i either work on someones else project or my own. I share sneak-peaks in the discord server. And just like the Social media effect. Where people post for likes, i hope for a respond.

What did the few people think of my little sneak-peak. Something they don't like ?
Something they just love, or just like everything in general. I always have "The community" on my mind when ever i make a server and i feel like, the more you give people the more you get back. So i always try, even if it's small. To like post something!

And as a thanks in the end, i always give something more back. Being related to in game to related to making a giveaway on Nitro. And people love that.


And if one doesnt have a community to share their work or ideas, find one. Find a discord server, a place where it's chill to talk about what ever. Just make sure it's minecraft related.
I have around 20+ people on my old minecraft server discord. And i am working on a RPG inspired survival server. And been working on it for 6 months alone now, and haven't lost a single drop of motivation, and i am working on 5 different projects at once. Some Server related some hosting related
