I mean sure, I appreciate it, but saying it wasn't done for profit is a fail. Making a thread with 7 pages of replies is good, cheap advertising. There's nothing wrong with that, but come on, it was as much for them as it was for the winner and they will make profit because of it. I see the giveaway as a smart idea, but I'm not going to thank a person putting on a contest and pretend they are putting it on solely out of the goodness of their heart.
Just to be completely clear, your post bugs me, not the giveaway. I mean, if I won the lottery, I wouldn't get on a news station and tell everyone who entered to go thank the people who sell the tickets.

Your post bugs me because you are a selfish little butt hurt kid who didn't win so you go off and act like a prick. 100% ungrateful. They took time to build this map and give it away. They didn't have to do that.
I'm not annoyed because I didn't win. It was less likely than getting a wither skull on the first kill by two-fold. I'm annoyed because you think winning gives you the authority to tell people who didn't win how they should react. You wouldn't have posted the same message if you had lost yet you expect people who lost behave in a way I'm just not convinced you would have. In essence, your post was just a politicians way of saying "Haha, I won and you didn't so I'm better than you! Suck it... and if you say anything bad about this its because you're petty and you lost!" except you mask that with an pathos appeal trying to get us to feel so greatful that someone would host this contest out of nothing but the goodness of their heart. That means you take the quoted statement seriously and just want your moment of attention because you think you deserve it. If you had actually just written the statement I quoted it would be many times better as it would be kind of funny and satirically portray how someone who beats a random number generator feels like they won despite not having actually done anything.
Like I said before, the build was a good business move. I think it was smart and I respect the build team. Hell, I even appreciate them though I really don't appreciate being told that I should appreciate them. I don't respect you because you think beating a random number generator makes you better than everyone else and somehow gives you the authority to tell everyone else how to feel.

Ok first, where did I say I was better than everyone? Plus I never forced anyone to share my opinion. Also if I didn't win I wouldn't have posted anything at all. I didn't expect to win this so I was a bit in shock. Overall I think you are just taking what I said the wrong way and just want to start something. The last thing is my moment in attention. Simply by posting your comments you seem to be the one out for attention.
Its a politicians way of saying you're better than everyone else. In other words, you write a post with class to deter from the fact your underlying intentions didn't have any class. By saying we all should appreciate the build team implies that some people won't and that their opinion is flawed. Its human nature to feel a sense of pride when you win something whether its deserved or random chance, and this caused you to try to speak for everyone in your post. "I'd like to thank" is fine while "I think we should all thank" is not. You then feel the need to give a reason for involving everyone in your post besides the fact you are qualified to do so for winning and attempt to say this contest was put on solely by the kindness of the team. That part just isn't true as I've already explained how such a contest is good for business.
As far as attention, no I don't want any. The flaw in my thinking is I just got way too annoyed at what you originally wrote. Most people have the kneejerk reaction of "Yeah, screw you too." when they read what you wrote and move on. I was kind of bugged that I had that reaction and decided to think about why I would feel that way since on the surface there's nothing wrong with your post. I discovered me thinking that is completely valid if you look at who posted and why they posted. So, yeah, I'm not going to reply further because at this point its affecting the thread and I think both sides of this are represented well enough for people to decide their own opinion on the issue.
