Hello MCM,
Many of you may not know me, so here's a bit of background. I joined this community (not specifically this forum) near the beginning of 2015. After some toxicity and the closing of said forum, I left the community due to losing the considerable amount of rep I gained (from this specific forum).

However, I've recently come back to the community, and sat back and looked at accounts that have interested me. Whilst doing so, I've come across many pointless posts saying, "GLWS!", "Vouch!" and many other posts that users would call "shitposting". Many users are basically raising their message count while also spamming a thread with unnecessary posts. Countless times I have gone to threads with the most posts, to see that many of them were pointless. Many of us OG collectors need to scroll through the threads and look closely in order to find current offers and any updates the seller have posted. This is where the use of the Vouch button would come in. There is currently a rule, Rule 1.8 that states, "1.8 Do not post content which is extremely low in quality, irrelevant, redundant, unnecessary, or meaningless. (e.g: “Looks nice, GLWS”, “Vouch, bought an {item}”)". I do see this everywhere, and many times it is also from users who have not even dealt with [OP]. While I do agree that users should be allowed to Vouch if they've done a deal that is substantial or relates to the post(such as the user selling the account to the OP) , it should only be a lengthy post detailing information, not three words or one sentence constructed of five words.

Below is a list of the punishments I believe are necessary, but can change according to how staff chooses and wishes to do so:
-First Offense: 1 Warning Point
-Second Offense: 3 Warning Points
-Third Offense: Suspension for 1 day and additional 2 warning points
-Fourth Offense: Suspension for 1 month and no additional warning points
-Fifth and Final Offense: Permanent Suspension

Many users can agree with me, and I've seen suggestions on this forum that have the same arguments. buildblox posted just this past year a thread called "Introducing the end of GLWS and Necro-ing". And while I do agree with buildblox and think that necroposting is annoying, this issue is not one of my primary concerns and is not as large of an issue as the shitposting I've seen lately.
Thank you for your time,
Regards,
Maddboy10

We do enforce our rules; however, we can't be everywhere at once.

The true issue here is that members are simply, as you said, "scrolling through threads" and shaking their fist at the useless posts, but not actually reporting them.
Report them, they'll be removed.
Report them, the user will be warned.
If they continue to do it, they'll be suspended.
But you have to use the report button.

Most people joining the forum have no idea what "GWLS" even means or what context to say the word "Vouch".
It's our existing members that are doing this, and the lack of cooperation from the community to help the staff team enforce the rules. These posts are simply ignored, and those that continue to do it don't stop and also encourage newer naive members to do the same.

Conclusion: Please use the report button.

  • Any suggestions related to modifications to the reaction/rating system will be declined. This includes removal of the entire rating system, additional ratings, changing ratings to neutral, etc.
This is a pointless suggestion, just report the thread saying "many people have broke rule 1.8" or report the comments individually. You're suggesting 1 thing that cannot be suggested and suggesting a rule be enforced when it already is.

Alright, thank you for your feedback. If you feel it is necessary, you can lock this thread :D.

However, a few months ago people were getting warnings for reporting too many threads or posts, giving them warning points?

For going into the search bar and searching for and spamming countless reports on posts which had not been active or replied to for months, yes. That can get you warning points.
If you're going to report a GLWS messages, report them while they're relevant, not after they've build up on page 57 of their respective forum.
Intentionally spam reporting content nobody is going to be viewing serves no benefit other than abruptly take staff time and focus away from areas that should have gotten the immediate attention that it needs.

If you'd like to mass report posts that violates our rules but is no longer relevant or time dependent, you can use support requests or PM a willing staff member and they can go through and simply delete the old posts that were not reported promptly once the present day issues are taken care of.
