I've already attempted to explain that:

As both SavageFactions and FactionsUUID are licensed under the same GNU license, there's nothing to interpret or dispute. Any derivative works of these projects must also be licensed under GNU, as per the license conditions.

The projects can be sold but MUST BE open sourced I think me and the staff team might actually need to get in a discord call so I can explain licensing from GNU

I just want a straight forward answer, People are making these forks that are half-assed coded, claim its optimized, and its code that is not theirs to sell.

I legit have THE WEBSITES community behind me on this lol. There is a need for a dispute in context of what can be sold and what guidelines that need to be followed when being sold. My factions plugin was FREE and it still was taken down and I was still warned for it.

Indeed, that is a condition of the GNU license and is why I've already mentioned that I'm seeking clarification with the team in regards to how that's enforced.

From my view, at least one of the authors of the threads you linked should be warned, but I may be misinformed.

This wouldn't be enforced for Spigot/PaperSpigot/Bukkit/similar forks, for the reasons already mentioned.

Driftay After quick a conversation with Justis, he informed me that the GNU license actually allows you to charge a 'reasonable' fee for the disclosure of source code, so the mentioned threads would not actually be a violation of the license.

However, with that being said, the threads you've linked have been removed from public view, due to the fact that the FactionsUUID author had previously contacted MC-Market directly and requested that any derivative works (or forks) must be distributed free of charge.

This is outlined within our redistribution rights wiki, which I had completely forgotten about:
The author of FactionsUUID allows content creators to FORK the project and distribute those forks ONLY WHERE a significant amount of original content has been added to the fork, and when the fork is distributed free of charge. Insignificant forks, paid projects and direct copies are not granted redistribution rights.

As SavageFactions is also a fork of FactionsUUID, the original author's request will always be prioritised, hence any derivative works of SavageFactions or FactionsUUID must be distributed free of charge on our platform.

I'll be going through any threads or resources later on which this may not have been enforced for.

Apologies that this wasn't clarified sooner.

By all means, StellarFactions is then not allowed to be sold anymore on this very market. I suggest you look into that.

That's fully understandable - a support request could work as well, but I see the need to bring this up publicly.

I may have done similar things when I was pushing for changes to be made on the site, before becoming a staff member here.

Indeed, and those two threads Driftay linked have been removed from public view, and the authors messaged as to why.

I'll be handling the rest that I can find when I get home in ~2 hours.
