wanted to trade $50 PayPal for $70 Amazon code then I paid him then he gave me a code that was already used and he said I was scamming because I already used it which I never did

Friends and family, I contacted PayPal but they said their gonna look into it but I doubt I'll get my money back[DOUBLEPOST=1467596799][/DOUBLEPOST]

Darn that stinks... I don't know how people scam people, I would feel terribly bad if I did. I can only help with one thing, next time when someone offers something that's too good to be true like $50 for something worth $70 make sure to use common sense and dig into that a little further.

Never, ever, pay as friends and family if the amount is over like 5 dollars. Unless you are OK with not getting your money back if you are scammed.

It's still wrong of him to scam you like that, blame him for scamming you and make sure to just dig into stuff further that doesn't sound true next time. I hope PayPal does get your money back.

Tip #1: If you sound over 18, call them. You'll have a higher chance of winning a dispute if you talk to PayPal representatives over the phone.

Tip #2: Provide as much proof as you can of getting scammed.

I would be careful next time though. If it's a large payment like that, always PM the person first. Also, use Goods and Services.
