This is simply the way I process while dealing with accounts, if you disagree or feel like something in this is wrong, post a simple comment, no need to be rude.

While buying accounts, no proof is worth anything unless you have seen the account itself by yourself. Falsifying proof is quite easy with very little knowledge of how Minecraft works.
Always ask to see the account itself by yourself on Mineplex/Hypixel, infront of you.
(As you can see, I have my name appearing on the scoreboard, but with simple methods, you can have that falsified as well.)

Value is very easily calculated. If the account itself has an Original name, that obviously boosts its value. If it has a Minecon cape, the value is drastically decreased if it doesn't come with TID.
Minecon Cape w/o TID: Ranges around 70 - 300+
Minecon Cape w/ TID: Ranges around 120 - 450+
Name: Offer yourself before asking for a price.
Total Price: Name ( + Presence of Minecon Cape( + TID))

For a cape, record a small gif with you logging out of Hypixel/Mineplex, showing the cape in F5. (Block the name if needed)
While selling, show the cape to the buyer in person, so even if he backs out, he can vouch for you.
For an OG Names, well most smart people would ask you to join MinePlex with them, but as OG Names aren't really the concern of Mojang, you'd be safe to post normal pictures of it.
