I usually do $5 which is still pretty low but I could consider $3 if your interested.

Even children have some sense of wealth. Sure, I did think $20 was a lot when I was younger, but I also thought $5 was almost nothing. Almost. You could always buy something with it, but it was very little.

MCM has people who want shit for free (lol), those with very small budgets (which in my experience is a lot of people but not the majority), those with still small but acceptable budgets (like at least $10 lol), and then it only goes up from there to the clientele that I target ($25 and up, usually a lot more than that). It is not a majority but it is still a considerable market, especially because not everyone can cater to the needs of that market. Oh, and there's like waves to this stuff - right now I'm not really getting any actual commissions (just talking to clients mostly) but 2 weeks ago or whatnot there was enough work in that more reasonable budget section of the market.

I honestly don't think most kids here have the same sense as you :rofl:
Also 10$ or 25$ is not near a decent budget at all from the kind of stuff people ask here, but of course it depends.

But yea, most people just lowball here, so most artists are scared of valuing their work properly.
Heck, some people expect to earn less than minimum wage because they think if they raise their prices, they won't get sales.
There's also the quality issue, most people here think a "stickmen with hair is quality art" /s exactly because they don't know the time/value we artists put on it, and when comes good and quality art offers, they think it's expensive, because they can't can't compare properly, if that makes sense.

Myself I didn't change my prices for 3 years and I've been getting a decent amount of sales every month.

and yes you have to be fucking stunning to be able to charge high prices. Cause theres someone who will do an OK job for free
