I have had it hacked, $400 were charged off of my dads credit card overnight. Was a very stressful night >->

I got token grabbed so that is how it was hacked.

Each account has their own specific token, kinda like how bots have their own token. If this token is stolen people can login to your account without needing to place a password or email. That is what I understood of how it works.

That is correct. A token is a unique identifier to your login on Discord. If your token has 2fa.### at the front of it, it means you have 2fa enabled. If someone retrieves your token, they have full access to the account and can do pretty much anything. You are essentially logging in as them.

If they do have 2fa enabled, scammers will find it difficult to make some purchases or delete your discords, since it requires 2fa, which is only on your phone. This protects you from totally loosing your account.

Any questions hit me up.

yea, my mistake was that I didn't have 2fa on, lesson learned.

Now I have 2fa on 1 main account and 4 alt accounts (Authy 2fa, not sms/call verification)

Prevention is always better than cure. I know it sounds stupid, but I have 30+ 2fa's in my authenticator application on my phone, and 15 on my other phone for protective portals such as banking.

ALWAYS 2fa, even if you have like 30 and have to scroll the list.
