We already have a tagging feature, so hashtags would be pointless to add, but whatever!

Why is this necessary? Seems like a pointless feature and would most likely encourage the spamming of hashtags meaning more low quality posts.

I disagree, there are no real features being added that will help the site. I feel like you just suggested this because "why not?". This doesn't need to be added. Not sure when this would be useful.
