Hello ladies, gents and other.. I have always had a server idea that I wanted to create and have fun with. I've had this idea ever since 2014 but I never could afford the money and time to put forth my idea. Years later I finally found the time and money to afford to create this awesome server idea of mine. About a week ago I started working on my project. I first started to look for a build team to make me an amazing server spawn. Found a team and got them to work on it. Simultaneously I found a top notch plugin developer. Made a google doc, typed out my big idea in depth and sent it. Finally I looked around for the best graphic designer I could. And I did all within this mc-market website. I also got my hands on that nice Xenforo license. They're all working on the ideas I gave them and soon I will be able to release my idea publicly.

The other day I had a 24 hour shift with someone and this guy was like a business God. He showed me his several online businesses and answered questions I had about advertising, website development, etc. He was an awesome guy. But anyway, despite the costs I already put down, I honestly don't care if I make money back from the server because I won't be offering in-game currency or pay to win items. I work on a fixed income. I'll be able to pay for everything out of pocket. My question to you is have you started or made your dream server? Ever thought about the perfect server?

With me, I created a lot of my dream servers because income was coming in from working on other people's servers so I was always able to fund projects. I worked on my first dream server DischargeNetwork (about four years ago). My intentions were to start the server and see how it went. Of course, I ended the server because my partner quit and I barely knew anything about servers at that time. So over the years I've gained a pretty good understanding of servers and created my setup team which is very reputable, then I decided to work on CaribbeanMC and SkyBlockGlobal (servers I owned in the past but wanted to revamp). Finished both of them and released them, they did good, things happened, and they were sold obviously (as a server owner you sell your server if you aren't able to run it to it's potential, also you wouldn't give it to someone for free because you spent a lot on it). So basically to make this short and not go into depth about everything and answer your question, yes I have made a couple of my dream servers. Note none of my dream servers were servers with large PB. I really cared about the development before any of that.

That's awesome. Back then I had a had a few servers myself with low PB. They weren't all successful and I figured out why too. With this upcoming server of mine I hope it will last for more than a year.

Some years ago I wished I could make a server about nations and wars some day, I didn't knew that much about how other servers were doing so I couldn't be much aware if it but it existed, it exists now tho.
That's kind of funny because I'm making a server about kingdoms and wars right now haha

Yeah, there are a bunch of ways you make our server last and one that is the most effective in my opinion are updates and ads. You always have to be up to date. If I wanted to make a server right now, I'd plan out the next couple months in advanced (weekly updates planned out from the start). This helps you know what you need to achieve. Then when server releases I'd get many managers to just handle getting me youtubers, the more youtubers, the longer your server will last.

Yeah, youtubers do help but there are other methods that are pretty good too. Thanks for the advice though, will definitely come in handy.

The thing is these days, it's not as much a dream server as it is a dream community. It's really hard to create a good community now, and if you do you've done something right. Almost all servers are very similar, so it's more about the players and not the server-sided stuff.
That’s true. Very true.. but to get that community I think it’s based on how the owner and staff interact and treat the players. Terrible owner would have shitty community. Am I right? What do you think?
