Hey there, so currently my server is in offline mode while we do maintenance work however it's come to my attention that once we opened one of our servers players were using an exploit on the HUB, as far as I'm aware they are using some sort of name changer mod or hacked client to change their minecraft name temporarily and since it's in offline mode they can do this. With this the can set their name as a admins names and from here it's not detected wether to be the real person who someone with a changed name so the player can op and give himself * perms under his real ign. I was just wondering if anyone has a fix to this issue?

We are but I'm told by my other admins it needs to be in offline mode because of some reason.

Do you have a autherization plugin?

Well lets just say you need to fire your admin, because hes 100% wrong and most likely hes trying to grief your server with some of his friends

I agree. Your admin is Either:

A: Lying
B: An idiot

Thats diffrent, yes you need the servers to be offline, and in the spigot yml file you need to enable bungeecord, then no one can join trough the IP

In offline mode people can not join and get op and stuff on your server, as everything goes by UUID's anymore, if all of your server is UUID friendly, you will be fine! Offline mode isn't as dangerous as it used to be.
