Hi all, lately I have been coding plugins and trying to learn how to develop good java plugins which I could maybe be successful with one day.

Basically, all I need is some sort of tutorials and stuff for developing which is free for example if you know any e-books, or tutorials on youtube which I could watch to learn Java in Minecraft (or just tell me any tips in general how you started).]

Thanks <3 :)

Would recommend learning Java first I started about a month ago and started with spigot and I could barely do anything until I saw another thread an a udemy course and now I'm learning Java first and I'm sure I'll be able to make some good spigot plugins after learning Java in a month

TheSourceCode is a good channel there's also a discord he owns for support, codedbyyou also has a discord which u can find somewhere. As others have said make sure you understand some Java first, thenewboston has some good tutorials on YouTube. Personally I'm doing a udemy course by Tim bulchalka which u can currently get for $10

JordanOsterberg is very good also! Search him up on youtube, really nice guy :)
I have watched Jordan Osterberg before but he uses IntelliJ I'm pretty sure which I'd rather use Eclipse and learn with that, but thanks!

If you get used to it intellij is a really nice ide however it is more complex to get started with. It has better auto complete and u can even generate commonly used blocks of code

Yea it looks better I just find eclipse quite easier to use dependencies/imports whatever it is :)

I would recommend IntelliJ. Once you get to know how it works, is a very easy software to use and I recommend learning with it.

Edit: Also, importing, exporting, and all the basic compilation of stuff is very easy to setup. If you need any help just let me know :p

If you did not learn Java, Please learn Java first. You won't regret it. Most people who go into the Bukkit API right away usually regret it and go back to learn java when they make more complex plugins and don't even know what Lists, Interfaces, Enums and etc are. It's always good to have a deep understanding Java so if something goes wrong with your plugin. You'll immediately know. I recommend courses on Udemy to learn Java but people would argue CodeCademy is better. It's all personal preference. I learn from watching videos and practicing what I learn. Feel free to join this discord if you need help from other developers or add me on skype if you have any further questions.
Thanks :)
