I think you may need to change your protocol

Theres no edit option, and the formatting in the submitted port forwarding table is completely different to the way its submitted and I've forgotten where I put them....

I suck with this kind of stuff, but are you sure that's your local IP?
I thought most of the time it was 192.168.1.*
I could be wrong.

First of all, when you start the server are you able to type in "localhost" under direct connect and join? If so, then you at least know that's not the issue.

Make sure the port 25565 is whitelisted in your AV firewall as sometimes it blocks it. I remember this being the problem for me when I did this ages ago.

Go to the "Windows Powershell" & wait for it to load up then type "ipconfig"
It should show your ipv4. Make sure you're using the ipv4 of the computer thats hosting the server.

I cannot connect through localhost atm, I believe this is because I set the server-ip in the server properties to my local address...

I've tried fully disabling my firewall and it still doesn't work.[DOUBLEPOST=1516937747][/DOUBLEPOST]

You cannot use the private IP address on a site such as this, if that's what your doing.

In your server.properties, there is a line that is somewhere along the lines of
ADDRESS=
or
IP=

You need to go to a site such as https://ip-locator.info/ and bind the minecraft server to this IP address, and give that out to your friends. Your router configuration for port forwarding is fine.[DOUBLEPOST=1516937871][/DOUBLEPOST]

This has ultimately nothing to do with the windows firewall, I've never had that issue. It might be your router if anything -- I can help you configure it and the worse case scenario is putting your computer in the DMZ zone on your router to avoid any mishaps or configurations you've done along the way, but it looks fine to me.

could you please temporarily add me on discord? Huckle#9101

I would recommend if your server is hosted on a Windows Machine, to check if it works through localhost first, then if that doesnt work, open Windows Firewall With Advanced Security. Click on Add new Role and then put in the port 25565.
