Help with RAM

I tried adding a new ram stick to my computer. Same model and size as my other two sticks. CPUZ recognizes it, however, Windows and the BIOS does not recognize it. Does that mean its a dead stick?

Try replacing your 1 one with it and see if it works.
Update your BIOS.
Try using different channels.

I personally helped him through it, it was the channel config - He placed one of them in black & one in blue, obviously that doesn't work on a 4-channel board. I doubt he'll be needing anymore assistance.

I thought it worked but it just wasn't the optimal way to do it.
I guess not.
