Help With XenForo Error

Now before I start,
I'm no web dev, so please don't get all technical lol.
anyway, my issue is that whenever I install xenforo, it gives me a, 404 gateway timeout nginx thing. from my research I believe I have to change the php timeout time or something, but idk where that is. any help would be appreciated thanks.
