Try switching to SMTP or installing a good SSL certificate. It's a security issue which makes this happen.

There are actually a lot of reasons an email can be flagged for spam, I'd start by checking your domain with tools like mxtoolbox it's free and can quickly point to issues.

You should start by verifying your domain's MX Record points to the correct IP, most mail services will reject emails immediately if it doesn't match the sender.

Have you checked to ensure your IP/Domain isn't on a blacklist? (This is the most common cause if your mx record is correct, an IP can be added to a blacklist long before you ever got it.)

The easiest way to fix it if your IP is blacklisted is to ask your host for a new IP, just let them know you're having issues with email traffic and they will likely change it for you if their systems don't let you change it yourself.

Does your domain have the appropriate text records? (SPF, DKIM, DMARC) These won't guarantee your emails don't go into spam, but they will definitely help.

You should also check the content of your email, if you're using the default Xenforo template you're probably fine but if you've edited it you should check it for phrases that could cause spam filters to flag it.

Adding SSL definitely can't hurt, and if you're using xenforo is recommended anyway. This is super easy and free if you use Let's Encrypt.
