Hey guys I really want to get into some Minecraft configuration and coding some plugins... does anyone have an advise on where I should start?

Read up on the APIs used for creating plugins. Then watch or read some tutorials on basic Java. For just starting, it'll be a trial and error process... prolonged by headaches with errors and code not doing what you want.

I feel like the problem is convincing people to let you config their server... especially when you have no idea what you are doing. ( I know some stuff but not a lot). At the end I believe I will just disappoint them and get a bad rep.
