Always remember hetzners auctions are people dedis that they dont use anymore so the person who used it before u could have done bad stuff to it idk but yeh.

You do realise all data is deleted when it is sold? How could they have done 'bad stuff' to it if all data is being reset, I'm also pretty sure they wouldn't be able to do permanent damage to it if they don't have access to the physical server.

Hetzner and SoYouStart use processors that aren't qualified for retail, so the performance won't be as good as if you were to buy from a premium dedicated server provider

Maybe true for some, but the Xeon E51650v3 is perfectly suitable for production and is relatively modern and upto spec, hetzner does have a few budget options but also has a fairly premium line.

Yep, I have 2 of them (a 128gb one and an 256gb one)

This machine is only one generation behind, so it is quite a new server. You can't go wrong on a server for that price, although Hetzner is strictly self-managed so you won't get any assistance beyond hardware issues.

Even if someone has "done something bad", Hetzner will replace anything that no longer works, eg CPU, HDDs/SSDs, Ram, etc

So you are saying a Intel I7 6700K which is used by companies like Crident and Hexane Networks is not qualified for retail? Even though they both are the biggest Garry's Mod hosting solutions out there.... cause that is on SoYouStart and is a perfect CPU for intensive addons and high player counts.

Just because some companies use them, doesn't mean they are good. Do you know anything about CPUs?

i7s are decent for hosting servers, but, Xeons are server-grade CPUs that are designed to run for months on end, whilst an i7 is a more commercial cpu made for a few hours of use at a time.

Yes I do know about CPU's. Yes Xeons are server grade but I was only making a example about I7's, they both have there ups and downs but he was saying how Hetzner and Sys sell CPU's which are not qualified for retail. Yes MOST of the CPU's on there are not qualified for retail, I7's are in high demand for dedicated servers in other games instead of Minecraft. The biggest example would be Garry's Mod as that is CPU Intensive on the server side of things.

Not to be rude / disrespectful but you used post these way too often. I've lost track of time from the last one. If you're going to be buying servers you should have better ideas as to what you need for a specific application to host.
