The only rules that aren't written down, but everyone knows are the following:

#1: Don't be toxic/annoy people, that's a good way to get the wrong type of attention.
#2: Before doing any deal, no matter how big or small, make sure you ask the person (if it's off-site) to confirm on-site. This makes sure you aren't dealing with an impersonator. If they refuse, they're impersonating someone else and are trying to scam you.
#3: Don't go first to anyone in any deal, use a Middleman. A little price (or even no price) is nothing compared to what you'd lose if you didn't.
