Although, this has been a suggestion that has been declined a few times before:
I would like to reopen the case for a whole bunch of different reasons.

Now I say specifically HIDE not close or delete please keep that in mind.

Why would we continue displaying content/services that a banned user offers?
Let me go scam users for a bunch of money and still have my thread service and my skype listed everywhere so new members can look me up and buy off me and then I can get to scam them as well!

You are essentially banning the user, but not removing all the dangers of that user from the site. Yes, it is the user's choice to follow the link and purchase from them, but MCM is not helping by leaving them a breadcrumb trail to follow

Right now the system is in place to block the viewing of a banned user's profile I am only looking to push it further to simply hide threads/posts made by the user to cut-off business contacts to users that are no longer allowed to use the site.

If the user is unbanned it unhides them.
This should be simple to implement since being banned I would assume is a status/rank type thing.

Note: I am not saying I am going to scam just stating a mentality.

Current Ideologies:
- (Myself) Remove them completely
- (Justis) User ability to show content from banned users (Currently Most Supported)

To knock out the idea "This would be expensive to implement"
We have several preferences that check our name color, live chat mode, and everything else. It would merely be a mixture of something like retrieving a user's color status and determining to block a banned user's profile mixed together.

In this case: retrieve the poster's banned status
- If user is banned and viewing user's not showing banned content
- Do not show post/thread/whatever
- else
- Show post/thread/whatever

Slightly more difficult would be to check it against the section and if it's in certain sections override.

High performance, consistent uptime and fast support. Minecraft hosting that just works.

I assume you mean that their threads are not listed publicly, but you are still able to access them with a link, and that their posts are hidden, but users have the option to show them by clicking a button or something?

I would prefer completely hidden like just not viewable unless staff because they shouldn't be seen by users at all because if I am banned why should I still get business from the site. Either way would be beneficial to the site cleaning it up a bit.

Again only hide it if they are banned it is a punishment even if the user is only temp banned. Why let them make money off the site when you are trying to teach a lesson.

Remove my access from the site while leaving my skype details and everything else open makes me as a company/business (whatever) lose little to no money. Completely cut off my income now there is a reason to watch what I choose to do here.

I could see that for marketplace threads, but scam reports, suggestion threads, and even general discussion threads are sometimes started by banned members, but are very useful and informative in the information they collect.

If this were to be implemented, I'd like for it to be restricted to their marketplace threads.
I'd also prefer if their posts would not be completely hidden.
This could potentially screw up a lot of conversations that occur in all the threads they've interacted in, and could easily confuse anyone reading the thread.
Moderators remove reported posts in a fashion which makes sense for those reading; we would not be able to automate that same level of human judgement, so I'd prefer a sort of -unhide- option.
Though that would likely require custom development, if I'm correct about XenForo's default limitations.

I can definitely understand Scam Reports and Suggestions it not being applied but to 99% of the site, there is no reason it should allow banned content to be displayed. An unhide option would also still help however, it should be something they need to turn off themselves. <-- They take the risk themselves not mcm openly displaying the content.

On point to conversations if I am a scammer and got banned do you really want to leave that avenue open for my details to have already been sent. If you are going to leave it open everywhere else why not unblock the viewing of banned member's profiles because it is pointless to lock your windows when you leave your door wide open.

As I should state I personally would be happy with either, my main concern is that we are openly displaying such content.

If a user is banned it doesn't make all of their content irrelevant and should be unviewable. If we are to implement this, it should only be for the marketplace forums like Justis said and it should only be original posts, not the comments so as to not make conversations confusing.

I'd like more input on this though.

I see no reason to get this developed.

Denied, thanks for the suggestion.
