Not trying to be that guy because he has a report that needs taken care of. I’m also making an assumption that I’m not the only one having this issue.

I opened some reports which are taking forever. I requested a thread to be unlocked (which is our fault) a day or two ago and yet it still hasn’t been unlocked. Previous reports took up to a week or two to be completed, which is kind of long in my opinion. Most forums that have a lot of users (including MCM) are more-so looked at as a business. They are pulling in revenue, paying their expenses, and more. Therefore, they should really care about their reputation. This also isn’t the first thread I’ve seen about this issue either. Which is kind of concerning to the forum users. I completely understand people have to live their lives outside of the forum but, adding a few extra users on the team would definently help everyone - including the staff team.

If a report took a week to handle, there’s really only two reasons to why it did. The first being the staff are overloaded with reports and can’t keep up as MCM is a big community. The second could be they are not taking their position seriously, which I personally don’t believe - but it’s possible.

Again, for staff, this is not because of my open reports. This is just an issue I’ve seen for a while in this community. From Mick’s POV it would be hard hiring people due to their lack of experience and maturity as well.

High performance, consistent uptime and fast support. Minecraft hosting that just works.

Hiring more would make them Chat mods, which can't do reports. Just go yell at the Mods or ask for the deserving Chat mods to be promoted sooner, hiring more is only going to make it where there's lesser quality staff that sit around and do nothing except look pretty with a badge. A week per report isn't bad for how MCM has been the past 6 months where we were waiting months, it's slowly getting better.

A week pet report is awful, it should take max 1-3 business days.

But it can be better.
That is why I gave constructive criticism lol? Make current staff actually do something instead of hiring more lazy people. thnks for trying to argue and not reading though.

I read your post, this isn't arguing, you're definitions are clearly mixed up.

There are ups and downs to this though.
Yes, you could hire more staff, but more is not always better. The new staff members won't just start off by solving reports, they'll have to get used to it too.
Also, there's another issue. Right now there are quite a bit of staff members. I don't think we've had more than this (might be wrong though). So if we get a lot more staff members then right now, yes all the current reports will be resolved, but once they are, we will have a lot more staff then necessary. Yea, you could just kick half of them for no reason, but I don't think anyone wants to do that or have it happen to them.

So then hire 1 more..?

It won't be as effective, and I'm sure hiring staff for MCM isn't easy.
Of course, there's also the time the new staff member will spend learning how to operate and other stuff. Probably more than a month.

I’d say we are making positive progress on the backlog we previously had. At least in the support requests section, around 30-40% of the backlog has been addressed since the start of this month. However, we really do appreciate your patience while we solve things out.

Another thing which I’d like to clear up. Chat mods do handle basic support requests within our permissions and have recently began handling reputation disputes to speed up clearing the backlog. Now that scam reports are fairly up to date, our next priority is catching up with normal site support.

The problem is that MCM thinks that there are literally no good potential candidates on the site. It’s just not true.

MCM reaches out to individuals who they think are fit, which is just ridiculous.

MCM needs to be recruiting staff, because they don’t know that there are better staff candidates out there because they never ask.

Justis once told me: “Once you find that flowering place of great candidates, call me.” Well, I think we don’t need to look far. It’s right here. We just need to reach out and get the flowers that are blooming, so to speak.

I’d say that they need to hire more staff, yes, but they need to stop reaching out and let people who are super eager to do it reach out to them.

Agree, somewhat. But did you ever hear the saying the best relationships are the ones you don’t see coming?

It’s kind of the same as this situation. People who are eager to become staff usually aren’t the best choice. People who aren’t eager, but would be substantial on the team are probably the best candidates.

As you said, there are plenty of good candidates but it’s kind of hard to judge a book by its cover on the internet.

Obviously, that’s why you need background checks, interviews, etcetera. But MCM needs to let the willing have a way to contact them.

I think it's pretty safe to say that we've implemented this? Expanding our staff team for more redundancy and faster responses has been a goal of mine over the past few months and we're now up to 18 staff members!

Response times faster than they've been in most respects and we've been doing really great since expansion.

I'll move this to accepted.
