Hello, my name is Carson, I am the principle of Realm of Towny, and I am seeking a developer for my development team. I am willing to pay monthly; I anticipate that a reasonable payment of $60-$80 will be sufficient.

If you are interested, please contact me on discord:
caarson#0001

Below are some notes for which I suggest you read to get an idea of what you might be doing.

GAMEPLAY

This section of documentation is meant to describe Realm of Towny’s gameplay, below are links to help guide you in navigating this documentation.

COMPETITIVE GAMEPLAY IN REALM OF TOWNY

Realm of Towny is similar to any other Towny Minecraft server; users may make “towns” and “nations.” Towns are owned by their creator, users who join the town (by either invitation, or because that town is a “open” town) can, build houses, sell plots of land to other members of the town, and build walls to defend their town. The owner of that town may also make ranks for their town members that possess the ability to make changes to that town that are specified by that town’s owner. However, unlike other Towny servers, each town posses “defense points” that circumscribe that town’s strength. Defense points are earned through means of specific “ideologies,” which have their own positives and negatives. Primary ideologies can allot for additional defense points if specific requirements are met. These requirements are dependent on the chosen ideology, and can consist of; more members in that town, more money in that town, and land that town possesses. Users may also associate with other users and form alliances between their nations. Once allied, these nations can secure trade routes with their allied nation’s towns, allowing for income for exchange of items; such as valuable goods, food items, weaponry, and building supplies. If, however, a nation declares war on another nation, that nation may then, attack those nations towns. If the towns defense points reach a number below zero, the town then will become part of the nation that lowered the towns defense points below zero, and that town may then repair damages by regenerating their terrain and buildings, this is done by a price determined on the severity of damage done to that town. Additionally, A player may start a rebellion within his/her nation; if he/she can get enough players within his/her nation, the player can engage in battle with the nation in a similar fashion a nation attacks a town, eventually the player who kills the nation’s leader, will then become that nations leader.

IN-GAME CURRENCY

In-game currency is essential for accessing important features on Realm of Towny, in order to access certain features, users must pay the cost that is defined by either sellers of specific items, or a flat server cost for these features (e.g. getting a in-game pet). Players do not pay actual money for the basic features of gameplay, they do, however, have to use “in-game currency,” as a means of exchange. This currency may be obtained by completing specific tasks such as, selling an item, or by forming trade routes within allied nations. Players, by default, begin with $2500 dollars of the in-game currency, and may spend it however they please. Players may lose this money by either dying often, or purchasing in-game items, or in-game features.

FEATURES FOR DONATORS

Players who choose to purchase in-game features by purchasing a in-game “rank,” access these features through a navigable menu. These features mainly consist of a cosmetics, such as a prefix and suffix for that user, particle effects for that user. However, other features that may give them a slight advantage over their competition such as; kits for which that user may receive exclusive items, and a limited creative mode that prevents building of walls, or obsidian and valuable items, and allots for the building of houses and the like.

FEATURE UPDATES

Users love simple things, which are enjoyable and addictive. Most of our audience is of a younger demographic, average age being from previous releases was 13.5. Due to those as mentioned above, this makes these users more of the dynamic personality type, and thus making features that attempt to create more competitive gameplay will enhance user experience. Custom plugins and on-the-market plugins will be on Realm of Towny along with guided user interfaces to help guide users through complex plugins and gameplay features.
I'm looking for an individual who can assist me in developing the server in a variety of functions. You'll need to be able to code simple-to-moderate plugins, configure existing plugins, update public plugins (without source, this will involve decompiling them), as well as general help with managing development. The schedule for this job is flexible, but you should be able to check Discord fairly regularly, and not just drop off the face of the planet randomly and be unreachable for days on end.

Thank you, and I look forward to working with you.
Carson

EDIT:
I am now again looking for a developer as of April 14, 2018.

High performance, consistent uptime and fast support. Minecraft hosting that just works.

Yes, you may be required to update a plugin or do a similar task to show that you can code, this ultimately will be left up to the Leader of the development team, and how he decides to handle verification regarding the Java skill level.
I had reached out to you on Discord, and you had never accepted my friend request. You may still certainly accept it so we may begin chatting.

When I work alone as a freelancer I can make more, you might need to change your payment/job.

How many hours are you expected to work for that $80?
If you would need to work for 2 hours that would be a really good pay, but anything over 12 hours would be really bad.

The schedule is adaptable you choose the hours but it must be considered reasonable, if something pops up and we need you, and trust me, if that happens, it's because a team of other people couldn't figure it out, then I would expect you to be there to help or at least be there later to help. Our developers are not one-trick ponies, and I would expect that you would know what is considered reasonable.

Anyway, let me know if you have any other questions!
