Overview
Hey ya'll, I'm Legendary and I've been in the Minecraft scene since Minecraft Beta came out and even before Hypixel was a thing.
I've been working on a startup network over the past couple of months that has involved a lot of back end infrastructure development and what not, but because that's all ready now, I'm looking for a content team filled with passionate and talented game designers to help guide my vision.
The gamemode is Skyblock mixed in with RPG. We have taken inspiration from other successful servers, but of course, will be adding our own gameplay and differences. The Skyblock gamemode is nothing new, and the reason we've decided on Skyblock is because it's a proven and tested gamemode that's lasted over the course of who knows how long, and we've found that introducing new gamemodes typically fail without the large presence of a community and content creators.
Who am I looking for?
I'm looking for passionate individuals that are willing to put forth the time and effort into working together to bring our vision to life. Said individuals must also have a high attention to detail. Every idea that you bring to the table has to be of quality and detailed work. This includes documenting commands, placeholders, and much more. As of right now, I've been documenting ideas myself, which has started to take a toll because my creativity only goes so far. Before adding me on Discord or messaging me on here, please have some examples of your documentation ready or another way to demonstrate your creativity and experience in game/server design. This should include a list of previous servers you've played that would help you succeed in this role. (Skyblock or RPG servers)
Most importantly, I'm looking for someone we can form a long standing relationship with. Like I said earlier, the release will likely not be for probably 6 months just due to the sheer amount of ideas I already have. I'm looking for someone who is able to commit to this for the long run and take this seriously.
How do you know this isn't another one of those P2W Networks that will never reach fruition? I don't want to waste my time.
This is a common concern that many individuals have had in the past. We will not be a "P2W" Network with constant resets and releasing of crates, etc. My goal here is to create something that can cultivate a large community of players, and if that means monetary success, then I'm happy for it. Additionally, execution is not an issue with our network. I have a talented team of 5 Developers right now on retainer (3 Part Time, and 2 Full Time Devs) that are able to execute any ideas flawlessly as given to them. The only thing that will stop this from succeeding is lack of creativity.
Some advanced infrastructures that we have already completed, includes:
Load Balancing
100% Custom (Most servers say this, but we are truly custom. There is not a single public plugin/module on our servers. (With the exception of API handlers such as PAPI and Packets) Not even EssentialsX)
Instancing (Auto Deployment of servers when one limit is reached to prevent any lag from occurring whatsoever)
Hot Reloadable Modules (We can implement live patches onto the server without any gameplay interruption - No this is not /reload lol)
Loads of animations (Done with armorstands, packets, particles, etc)
Entire PVE System (Including Async Mob Spawning, etc)
Entire Island Core (Islands also have their own instance)
Multi Threaded (We process different caches/processes on different threads to ensure optimization)
Player Syncing (Syncing Inventories, Locations, Etc. across different instances)
And many more...
How do you know this server won't flop like 99% of other servers?
99% of other servers don't have the infinitely scalable structure we have and have to cut back on resources to optimize their server.
99% of other servers don't have a $XX,XXX budget that's meant to be spent just on marketing alone.
99% of other servers don't have the vision and are in it for the short haul (Money Grabs)
Of course, there are no guarantees nowadays with Minecraft servers. It doesn't matter how large or how hyped a server is without vision and direction. But I assure you that I will try my absolute hardest in bringing our ideas to life.
I've probably seen and played thousands of servers over the course of my Minecraft journey, and I understand what it takes to become a successful and long standing server. I think the #1 reason servers/startups fail in the first place is because of passion. Most people are passionate about a project and rush to get it out, and throughout that process, loses their passion and eventually stops working on the project. I've dealt with this first hand, which is why I understand how and why it happens.
What do you get out of this?
Now to be clear, I'm only looking for passionate individuals that share our goals and visions and are in it for the long run. But, I understand that nobody's time is ultimately free, and due to that, I will be paying on a project by project basis. For example, if you wrote a quality custom enchant list for each of our items (armor, weapons, wands, etc.), I would estimate the project to be around $50-$100 depending on the size of the document.
Referral
Additionally, if you're able to refer an extremely talented developer or game designer, we'll offer $50 USD if we do indeed end up hiring them.
