Hello BuiltByBit,
I am looking for an experienced PaperMC developer to build a fully custom SkyBlock plugin suite for a new competitive Minecraft network. This is a serious long-term project and I am looking for someone who takes pride in their work and wants to build something genuinely unique — not a Hypixel clone.
Project Overview
The suite consists of three interconnected plugins running on PaperMC 1.21.4 behind a Velocity proxy:
These plugins are deeply integrated with each other and must be built as a cohesive suite, not three separate jobs.
Technical Requirements
You must have demonstrable experience with:
If you have not worked with FAWE async operations specifically, please do not apply. This is a hard requirement.
Scope
I have a comprehensive internal developer brief covering every system in full detail — every Java file needed, every config value, every integration point, every implementation rule, and a complete testing checklist. This will be shared privately with serious applicants after an initial conversation.
What I can say publicly is the project involves:
What I Am Looking For
I want a developer who:
This is a quality-first project. I would rather wait longer and get something built properly than rush to a launch with unstable code. Players coming back season after season is the goal — that only happens if the foundation is solid.
What I Am NOT Looking For
How To Apply
Please send me a private message here or on discord (Lanity) with:
I will share the full developer brief with shortlisted applicants. From there I expect a detailed milestone breakdown and quote based on actually reading the spec.
Budget is open and negotiable based on experience and the quality of your milestone proposal. I am not looking for the cheapest option — I am looking for the right developer.
Additional Notes
Serious applicants only. Looking forward to hearing from developers who are genuinely excited about building something ambitious.
- SkyCore — island management, biome system, realm system, island upgrades, specialization system, quest system, leaderboards, resource minions, combat minions
- SkyEconomy — custom currency, dynamic player-driven market, auction house, island shop, rank passive income
- SkyWar — competitive 1v1 battle system, FAWE-dependent arena mechanics, open raid system, large-scale cooperative boss event, Power/Elo systems
These plugins are deeply integrated with each other and must be built as a cohesive suite, not three separate jobs.
Technical Requirements
You must have demonstrable experience with:
- PaperMC 1.21.4 API — not Spigot, not Bukkit
- FastAsyncWorldEdit (FAWE) async schematic capture and paste operations specifically
- Custom entity AI using ArmorStand base entities with Paper's scheduler
- PersistentDataContainer for all custom item identification
- Multi-plugin architectures with cross-plugin dependencies
- YAML data persistence with crash-safe write patterns
- LuckPerms API integration
- PlaceholderAPI integration
- ProtocolLib for custom entity packets
- BossBar API
- Elo matchmaking logic
- Dynamic pricing systems
If you have not worked with FAWE async operations specifically, please do not apply. This is a hard requirement.
Scope
I have a comprehensive internal developer brief covering every system in full detail — every Java file needed, every config value, every integration point, every implementation rule, and a complete testing checklist. This will be shared privately with serious applicants after an initial conversation.
What I can say publicly is the project involves:
- 30+ distinct interconnected systems
- Custom AI state machines for multiple entity types
- A multi-phase boss fight event with scaling participation
- A dynamic three-currency economy with real player-driven price movement
- A competitive matchmaking system supporting up to 16 simultaneous matches
- Estimated 15,000-20,000 lines of Java across the three plugins
What I Am Looking For
I want a developer who:
- Reads the full brief thoroughly before quoting
- Provides a detailed milestone breakdown with deliverables and realistic timelines per milestone — not a single lump sum quote
- Communicates consistently and proactively flags problems early
- Writes clean, well-commented code that another developer could maintain
- Understands that all source code is owned by me upon delivery
- Has genuine interest in building something players will love, not just completing a job
This is a quality-first project. I would rather wait longer and get something built properly than rush to a launch with unstable code. Players coming back season after season is the goal — that only happens if the foundation is solid.
What I Am NOT Looking For
- Developers who quote without reading the brief
- AI-generated code passed off as original work
- Vague timelines with no milestone structure
- Developers who disappear mid-project
- Anyone who cannot demonstrate prior FAWE experience specifically
How To Apply
Please send me a private message here or on discord (Lanity) with:
- Your experience with PaperMC and specifically FAWE async operations
- Links to your portfolio — ideally showing complex plugin work at a comparable scale
- Any vouches or previous client references
- A brief summary of how you would approach a project of this scope — milestones, communication style, delivery process
- Server is running on Bloom.host Performance Plus MC hardware
- All work is work-for-hire — full source code ownership transfers to me on delivery
- A basic confidentiality agreement will be required before the brief is shared
- Long-term relationship potential — this is the first of multiple game modes planned for the network
Serious applicants only. Looking forward to hearing from developers who are genuinely excited about building something ambitious.
