I’ve been a minecraft player for many many years now, played on almost any version and platform you could possibly think of, and recently I feel like the community has lost its touch a little. I miss the good old days of jumping on with your buddy, starting up a new world and just enjoying the game as a whole and loving every aspect of the game.

It’s all about money recently, which is perfectly ok, if you can make coin and love what you do then that’s brilliant, perfectly okay.

I was thinking of making a simple survival server, no plugins, mods or anything, just typical vanilla minecraft server where I could recruit 5-10 people to join as just enjoy a typical survival server with, free of charge (obviously). May I please have opinions on this? Thanks

There are quite a few people who’ve been wanting to do this. It just depends on the version of the server.

The reason it's not like before is because majority of the people from that era has grew up. Now we worry about college funds and shit like that. We no longer have that pure mindset anymore, we've been exposed to a lot of the things that we eventually need to face against in life. And if I'm being completely honest, it's really all about the money at this point. Some servers just take the cash and dip afterward. Zonix is a good example.
