For those of you who don't know, when you click on the Members tab in the navigation bar on the top of your screen, you'll be taken to the Notable Member page. There, there are tabs for Most Messages, Most Reactions, Most Points, Most Resources, and Staff Members.

I know that former staff members are awarded a special medal for their past service, but I feel that's not enough. If the arbitrary categories above are considered noteworthy, then why not the site's veterans? They deserve to be listed in a neat and viewable manner on that page, lest they be forgotten.

That's what I'd like to suggest: that former staff members receive their own tab in that section, complete with dividers indicating what role they specifically served before retiring or being demoted.

Regards,
Red

High performance, consistent uptime and fast support. Minecraft hosting that just works.

Include any that have resigned/been demoted that are not banned.

Would Harrison get a spot in that tab? What about Myiume or BucketOfSloths?
It would be a terrible look to have banned members in that tab, even if they were banned long after being staff.

What about staff members who only worked here a month and did close to nothing during that time?
What about staff members who were here a long time, but arguably did more harm than good, or were demoted for serious violations of our staff guidelines?

The issuing of the medal is already fairly uncertain, but a tab is significantly more viewable. There should be some larger considerations made regarding who gets access, prior to implementing something like this.

1. Removed banned users, simple.
2. Keep them.
3. Keep them. They were good enough to get staff, they were good enough to hold it, they're good enough to have a tab saying so.

Who was demoted for violating staff guidelines?

Sometimes as show of respect, they’re allowed to resign publicly, so as not to damage their reputation.
Even though they don’t really get the option to continue being a staff member, and it’s effectively a demotion.

You can just search "demoted" in our twitter or announcements to find staff members that have been publicly demoted though.

As long as it shows staff members that haven’t broken any rules and aren’t currently banned it would be a nice little thing to have.

Interesting. What would you describe as "violating staff guidelines". Is it abuse of power, leaking information, etc?

Being someone who's meticulous about documenting things properly, the archiver in me would want to list these users too. But I understand that not everything should be visible publicly, and certainly the "honor" in the title would be entirely undeserved to those members. Thus, I can understand excluding the members who violated our rules or terms of service severely enough to be banned.

This is highly subjective though, isn't it? I'm sure I don't have to tell you of all people that there are members of our community that look down on several, if not all of us, and feel that we aren't remotely qualified for our positions. In a perfect world, we'd be able to honor people to a degree representative of how much honor they deserve. Though that isn't the case, I don't feel it not being the case is a good argument to forgo the entire process. Look at presidential libraries. It doesn't matter if the public consensus of the president at hand is positive or negative, it doesn't matter how much good or bad he did, he will still have a library. Even impeached presidents receive a library, don't they?

Don’t include banned members on the list, regardless of the reasoning of ban, time of ban, etc.

Include all staff who resigned, aren’t banned and committed at least something to the staff team. Realistically, I felt like the ex-staff badge would’ve been good enough considering you can see a list but I mean if you want this implemented, then I feel like all above should be included.

Skydiving was[DOUBLEPOST=1575482605][/DOUBLEPOST]Quoting from utaninja:

“What about Skydiving? Thebaum64 and I were demoted for inactivity. Skydiving was demoted for leaking staff documents. I'm biast of course, but staff that were demoted for not always malicious reasons, in comparison to a staff that was demoted for the reason like Skydiving was, should be treated the same? Eclipse, Lotus, etc all users that resigned should obviously be on the list. But what about Seb? Is he an easy case? I mean he scammed but it wasn't malicious (the demotion not the scam). Seb you'd say no, but what about the staff that were demoted like justis said, barely worked, didn't do any and resigned/demoted. Take Lion for example,. Or someone like Baum, who just didn't have enough time for the site (public reason) if you come up with a definitive definition that's different. I'm all for it if you even out the creases. Any staff that have been banned/scammed should 100% not be on the list, even Seb.”

This thread wasn't meant to be about you...
I don’t see eye to eye with Justis on a lot of things, but I truly think the majority of his decisions/suggestions are (at least in his eyes) good for the site.

Unnecessary; not worth the time of development. The exclusive medal is enough of a recognition.
