Hello!

If anyone has a good hosting company they recommend and they have a discount for it please post it below!

I also have a question. What is the difference from a plain minecraft server to a dedicated server?

Thanks!

Minecraft hosting is like owning your own apartment unit where as a dedicated server is like owning the own entire complex and land around it.

In short your sharing the resources in the former except for the RAM (and sometimes you will get the disk space too) while the latter will allows you to hammer the resources 24x7. Though a GOOD Minecraft hosting provider should be doing this anyways so unless you got like a network or you require special arrangements you shouldn't has to pay up for a whole box if you don't need it.

Let me rephrase that for you, Normal hosting is like being in a dorm, VPS hosting is like having an apartment, Dedicated hosting is like having a proper house.

Seems like the question was answered, but if your still looking for hosting recommendations:

Hey Rambino, we offer Minecraft Hosting and Web Hosting for very cheap prices!

Our Minecraft Hosting is split up into 3 categories, Budget, Regular and Premium. Our Minecraft services are located in New York City, Los Angeles, and Dallas.

Here are the prices and specs on our servers:
-> Budget Dallas and New York - $1/GB (Owned Hardware)
• CPU- Dual Intel Xeon X5670 @ 2.93/3.33 GHz (12 cores, 24 threads)
• Others- 4x 250 GB SATA SSDs, DDR3 RAM, Pterodactyl Panel
-> Regular Dallas and Los Angeles - $1.4/GB with code SUMMER1
• CPU- Intel Xeon E5-1620v2 @ 3.7/3.9 GHz
• Others- SATA SSDs, DDR3 RAM, Multicraft Panel
-> Premium Dallas - $3/GB
• CPU- Intel Xeon E3-1240v5 @ 3.5/3.9 GHz
• Others- 2x 256 GB NVMe SSDs, DDR4 ECC RAM

These are equipped with 100 Gbps DDoS protection and 1Gbps Uplink, but you can get 500Gbps DDoS protection if you use our free GGA.

What is GGA/Global Game Accelerator?
GGA is a system that gives Automatic Low Latency for users and more DDoS protection. People from Europe that use this to Dallas usually lower their ping from about 150ms to 80ms and Australia from 300 to 150-200ms. We offer free setup of this and it would be perfect for you! Learn more here: https://www.psychz.net/gga.html

I'll revert to your second question. Regular plans are a lot cheaper 99.99% of the time, they can range from anything really. Going this way, just keep in mind resources are shared such as IP, hardware, and more. For example, think of it as you're living in an apartment building. You all share the same building, maybe the same laundry machines, etc. A dedicated server, however, is more expensive but worth it in the long run if you're going to put a lot of time into your server. A good dedicated server ranges from $60+ depending on what you want. For example (again), this is like owning a house, everything in that house is yours. You don't share any resources such as a building or laundry machines - everything is yours!

Your next question may be: What option should I choose?
Well, it all depends. If you're the kind of person that wants to just have a small server and not put much work into it. Go with a shared hosting plan, they are a lot cheaper. You can get these from $1/month. Although they may not be the best quality, it still is cheaper. I always tell people you get what you pay for, if you have the money, find a better host that charges a bit more. If you're the other kind of person, who wants to put a lot of work into their server and are motivated to get players, well - a dedicated server may be for you. Keep in mind, you'll have to setup everything so you may also need to pay someone or even watch a few YouTube tutorials.

Back to your first question. I tell everyone this, if you have the money - do not be afraid to spend it. You get what you pay for in this industry. I would likely avoid hosts that sell at $1/GB, they usually oversell their servers and customers have problems. On rival forums, I've seen so many threads about this being a problem for customers. I even had an owner of a company (which is on here) admit they oversell their servers. Which in all honesty, is not a bad business concept, but for consumers - you're really getting what you pay for.

If you're interested in a dedicated server, feel free to PM me. I would love to help you out!

Especially since network and CPU resources are HARDLY even used at 100%x24/7. What's matters is HOW is oversold and MONITORING and CAPACITY PLANNING. That way if a node/etc is showing EARLY signs of troubles in regards to overselling it can be either be reverted (early provisioning of a new node) or expanded as appropriate (upgrading the node).

The best there is, is FastSRV They have 32 gig servers for $5/month and free 0.5gig servers (Forever)
Also free webhosting. https://fastsrv.io/
Do not false advertise. 32GB servers for $5/month are just not realistic.

Also, to the OP, do not go with a host someone advertise on the thread that looks sketchy. Go to the Hosting section of the forums and go with your instinct.

Its not "False Advertise" Its real... and its 32 gigs I don't know whats up your ass but its something big.
32GB server for $5.00? That's either a scam or major overselling. No need to get rude when I call you out. That's highly unprofessional, especially if you're representing the company.

Ask anyone on MCM, they will tell you 32GB for $5 is not realistic.

Realistically though, a client with a 32GB server won't use that much RAM in most cases. If you're dedicating that RAM, you're wasting a huge load of CPU, Network, RAM and storage on that node so it's not at its full potential.

It's not highly unprofessional on their side, it is on your side.

Also, your site cart is broken.

That really does not make sense. If they were to use 32GB of that 32GB a host would be losing money dramatically - but okay. It is very unprofessional on his side, I was calling him out and he said I had something up my ass. I was not being unprofessional. Anyways, this is not a debate.

Also, our cart works fine.

This is supposed to be helping a kid out, not rambling back and forth. If you'd like to discuss anything further, PM.
