PebbleHost
High performance, consistent uptime and fast support. Minecraft hosting that just works.

Howdy everyone,

I need some thoughts on what people thing soyoustart.com game hosting is like (https://www.soyoustart.com/us/game-servers/) just wanted to know if its worth its money or a waste of money
soyoustart is pretty good value imo, just know if you want a faster processor or something, you need another host. I planned on using SYS if i need a dedi because I can't pay more than than 50 for one and their prices are very low.

for factions, i would defo go for a faster processor. Anything like an i7 6600 or higher (i7 8700, i7 7700, i9 9900k, etc) or an amd equivalent like a ryzen 7 or higher (ryzen 7 3700, ryzen 9, etc). I don't know much about skyblock but I would probably allocate more ram because people afk a lot and there are lots of entities present in sb. If you have a smaller server, that dedi should be fine though

Sky.

SoYouStart, if you did not know is an OVH subcompany, it’s there cheaper line up. As PradyXT said, I’d recommend something more powerful. I personally use server4you.com which is quite amazing (they are a sub company of go daddy).

good luck with your server :)

ps, I believe pebblehost used soyoustart for a while, so it’s quality

SoYouStart is ok. I personally use them for some of my hosting servers but we're trying to move away from them to main OVH or smaller providers such as R2F or Nexril.

As mentioned in earlier replies, if you need anything beyond an i7-6700k, 64GB RAM, and two 480GB drives, you'll need to look elsewhere.

SYS doesn't have the best reputation for the fastest support either, they're usually quite slow. I once had a ticket with them sitting there for 4 days with no reply.

If you really don't care about their support too much and only need the server specs they can provide, then you'll probably be fine with them.

If you need something more powerful than what they provide, I recommend looking on the main https://ovh.com website first. You can also look at providers such as https://ready2frag.com or https://nexril.net although they may cost you more. You may be able to get a discount from R2F or Nexril if you open a ticket with them and show an equivalent server at OVH.

Make sure you actually need a dedicated server though. If you're not planning on using all of the CPU or RAM, see if you can make do with a VPS and save money.

If you're opening a hosting company and want the most hq servers don't buy sys, just buy ovh or hetzner
If the servers they have fit their needs, they'll be fine using SYS.

if your talking about for minecraft servers, ive used pebblehost for minecraft hosting, I had the best experience with it out of all minecraft hosts.
I also use it for discord bot hosting, and ive had a better experience than digitalocean. its easier.

yea but if you have a good budget always go for a dedi rather than shared which would be AWEFUL on large scale servers considering there are many others on your box potentially lagging your cpu.
