Not much to go off of here. There's a lot you can do with just a laptop. I spent several years doing web development full time on a $300 chromebook. A laptop is a tool - however you use it is up to you.
Find something you're interested in and just churn out a ton of it. If you're still learning how to do things, the best way to get better is to keep doing it and building your skills. Eventually you will have what you need to sell your skills. You don't become an overnight success overnight.

I became good enough at writing I was offered a writing job at a professional e-zine doing app reviews and tutorials, and then a year later I was a Technical Editor of some "For Dummies" books. Best piece of advice is just start on something, anything, and see where it goes. Worst-case scenario you end up learning something.
