I've been trying to learn photoshop for a few months now, but I just can't seem to get the hang of it. I've been also using Cinema 4D which I'm getting used to.

I was just wondering what the best way of learning basic Photoshop and Cinema 4D is.

I actually found a graphic school online. It was free and only took around 18 hours of learn time. I would really recommend it if you could find it.

As ZDesigns said above, practice is key, start off by seeing a YouTube video covering the basics of Photoshop, reviewing the tools, their uses, and then try making anything really, try making any simple design you can think of, and by time you'll get better at it. I'd also recommend learning how to use "Blending Options" and masking layers, since they will help a lot later on

I learned off of testing things by myself and watching youtube tutorials, that really is the most effective way to learn a lot of things.

I learned how to use Photoshop by just experimenting and watching some Youtube :)

Udemy is a great website to buy lessons on how to do things, when I first started I used udemy to learn the basics and get a idea of how other people did it, once I figured that out it was just trial and error.

I messed around with it for awhile. Tried to do my own things for myself such as photoshop different things onto a mango. I then did simple free things for friends. When they asked me to do something I didn't know how to do I'd look it up and figure out how to by myself. Such as changing the colors of something or adding drop shadow to some text. I just kinda repeated this doing my own little projects for fun.

Come to think of it I didn't use Youtube that much because the adobe forums were really useful. Youtube is great for specifics although it's great to try to not use youtube for this type of thing so you can come up with tricks for doing effects or thumbnails on your own.

Just mess around with the software for the basics, then watch YouTube videos for the more advanced stuff.
