You upload the image to an image hosting website, then you link it using BBCODE (iirc) that's embedded in the forum.

How do I put my thread designs into the thread?

Press "Upload a file" on thread editor and then press "full image".
If the option for "Full image" is not there, get the image link that you just uploaded and then paste it in the image tool on text editor.
