I see tons of server discords with 1k+ members that haven't even launched yet. What are their methods of growing the discord?
Banned forever. Reason: Scamming (https://builtbybit.com/threads/futurize-scam-report.508535/)
Yeah but where did they get the word out? They do giveaways. Someone made a discord yesterday and got 1.5k from doing a fake $5 giveaway.
People got rewards for inviting people.
I see many growing from 'invite rewards' which are against the Discord TOS. Up to 10k members a day are earned.
Most of these servers are complete scams. I & Safdar were actually recently discussing one.
Giveaways alone are extremely hard to gain members with, just with the sheer amount of servers that there are like that. Most large servers just have fake paypal invite rewards.Yeah but where did they get the word out?
I've seen at least three that have had all invites to the server (new and existing) locked - they all got emails from Discord.Actually, invite rewards are allowed.
Invite rewards are not against the ToS, but they are heavily discouraged. If your server has been growing with the use selfbots (which is against the ToS), no matter if you knew about it or not, they will force you to remove the cause of it. In most cases, the cause is invite rewards.I've seen at least three that have had all invites to the server (new and existing) locked - they all got emails from Discord.
Selfbots with invite rewards is the way to go, if you want a huge Discord. Selfbots will get the word out to everyone, automatically. And the invite rewards will give the users a reason to stay.I see tons of server discords with 1k+ members that haven't even launched yet. What are their methods of growing the discord?

I am not confusing myself at all. I was close to the owner of one, and Discord cracked down on his server and blocked any new members from joining. He was offering invite rewards in PayPal cash, nothing more.I think you may be confusing something that happens quite often - the removal of servers for having invite reward with "cracked, phished, or hacked into accounts".

No one cares about selfbots being against ToS, people will find new ways to mass advertise either way.I think you may be confusing something that happens quite often - the removal of servers for having invite reward with "cracked, phished, or hacked into accounts".[DOUBLEPOST=1534442141][/DOUBLEPOST]
Selfbots are against the ToS, and are highly discouraged. Support for user tokens are going to be removed very soon from popular discord API wrappers.
Invite Rewards are not really discouraged, and servers may not get disabled for it.

What do you know about the server I was in? I've seen many servers go down the exact same way, and Discord have directly emailed them giving the reason of invite rewards.Yes, that happens as well. This happens when a large number of bots join a server, and discord is forced to take action. Not at all related to invite rewards.
