Don't try to get ratings, just kind of let it happen. Most shitposters here have a very low rating to post ratio. You don't want that. Participate in discussions, make high quality posts and they will come naturally. But never do something just for the sake of getting ratings; it makes you look bad.

I tend to disagree, but I can see why this "ratio" might indicate someone to be a "shitposter", however I feel that many of my messages 80% of the time actually have legitimacy regarding the OP thread. But agreed, let ratings just "happen" and don't try so hard to get them.

Yea, ratings show up when another user presses the like button, or agree, useful etc. on one of your posts. You don't need to stress about them, some people find it makes up your rep but it really does not mean much to be honest. Just keep having meaningful posts, if people rate it then you get one, but otherwise don't worry.
