Hey guys.
I currently work as Manager at RandomCraft.org where we're looking to improve our voting system to interest players and get more to vote. I personally feel we can do better, we have a large 400-average playerbase which peaks to 600 on weekends.
Why am I disappointed to how we're doing? Here is our voting chart on MinecraftServers.org:
I have selected a server at random which encompass as similar yet smaller player base (you can see it here).
I understand that RandomCraft is cracked however most voting sites allow cracked accounts to vote, which include MinecraftServers.org. I first though that it could be we usually get the newer players who just got Minecraft so they're not sure what voting is. Then I thought we really don't provide a recurring incentive for voting.
I'm currently working on our GTA server with a custom plugin of mine. If they vote on all 5 sites, they get a Voter rank which give them several special permissions and an attention-seeking prefix (/back with cooldown, /cow for cow disguise, /sell hand for selling coins, joining a full server, x3 kill reward). They also get $150, a Molotov and a vote key per site they vote on. We also have a vote party for 150 votes. They'll get a 1 in 4 chance of getting any of the following: $1000, 3 regular crate keys, 1 mystery key and 1 trinket.
This is all done with consistent reminders and limitations for non-voters who have 3 second delay per chat message/command. They are also reminded when they log in.
Any advice would be appreciated, if you'd like to look for yourself please go on play.randomcraft.org and go to the GTA server.
Many thanks,
Boomclaw.
