So I’ve been in the editing game for several years however since last year I started monetizing and created my business as an editor to make trailers, and worked for multiple YouTubers however I feel like I’m not ready to be committed to that type of editing every day with my schedule.

I’ve always had motivational issues including with the YouTubers and I feel bad me being the one that’s letting the YouTubers go because they needed me. With trailers, I get to choose when I want to work however I know I’m far more capable of making $20 trailers and I have the potential and experience to do it.

However, when I work on large projects I lack self discipline, and I feel that I’ve always been like this with everything, not only personal things.

So, my question is; I want to know how you guys, especially freelancers, stay motivated? Other than the revenue, what else do you use to keep yourself devoted to whatever you’re doing?

Thanks.

If you lose motivation in something , just stop it, that’s the easiest thing to do.
Sure but it's the easiest way out and to give up. Judging by the title of the thread and what the OP said, it looks like the OP wants to edit but doesn't have the motivation to do so and is looking for motivation, not negative statements.

It seems to me that you are burned out. It happens to everyone. I recommend taking a break from editing for a month or two and focus on another hobby. Soon enough, your flame will reignite again and you’ll get back the sense of drive and ambition.
