Okay so I decided to make a post about the current punishment and this thread is not made to target any users or members of staff this is just what I can come up with my observation over the time I have used this forum.

From my time on here I have noticed that there is a little bit of biasness when it comes to punishing users for their actions and what I mean is that if a user called another user "a worthless piece of shit" at the max he is given a warning but if someone was to say this to a staff member he would receive a ban which I don't feel is fair. I feel all users should be punished the same and what I mean is that they would receive the same punishment that they would if they disrespect a staff or user. Okay this may seem harsh but this is an opinion and not a thread designed to be taking shots at people. Okay staff you should not see yourself above other people as at the end of the day you are here for the same reason as us and the only difference is that you have extra permissions and a tag but we should all be treated the same and it shouldn't matter if you are a friend of the person who is in the wrong or you don't like him at all you should punish everyone the same and the same should go to staff members who step out of line they should be punished like regular users as well. So what I am saying happens is that the administration team get together to come up with a way that makes all punishments equal and also talk to the community and the other staff members on what they feel is wrong with the current punishment system and what needs to change and what can stay the way it is. I would happily talk to the administration team on this further if needed.

I would like to thank anyone who read this and I would also request that this thread does not get removed as I would like everyone to give their opinion on this if they want and if they do not want to go public with their opinion they can private message me and if I do get in a talk with the administration team I will bring up their points but not mention any names.

I would also like staff members to remove and troll comments and this is not a post that is made for joking around.

Thanks,
Clearout.

When has something like that ever happened? I can't recall anyone being banned for saying 1 thing along the lines of that to a staff member. Constant harassment and a single incident are completely different and shouldn't be compared.

Okay let me rephrase it. If a member is disrespectful to another member he would receive a warning but if he was disrespectful to a staff member the punishment would be more harsh as it would be seen as targeting them due to their rank and affiliation to McMarket.

Most communities ive been in have always done something like that. Staff are there to help the site and have to deal with tons of people bitching and reports/etc, the least they deserve is a little bit more respect and if a harsher punishment is required to "persuaded" members from disrespecting them so be it.
But as I said in my post they are not really that much different from any other user they just have a tag and extra perms. If everyone was treated the same and treated each other with the same respect and not just people expecting more respect because of a rank the forums would be a better place for everyone.

When several people set their profile pictures to Verringer in real life they were perm banned but when someone did that to LeCat they only got warned is a pretty valid example.

So you handle tons of reports and people bitch at you whenever a rule changes or you do your job and punish them for breaking rules? No? huh weird you just said they aren't that different from normal member... yet it seems they do alot more then normal members.
Yes they do a lot more than regular members but they are not forced to do it? No THEY made the decision to take on the job and they knew what they were expecting.[DOUBLEPOST=1459658508][/DOUBLEPOST]
Owner vs Staff... there is a difference lol.
The only difference is an extra tag and perms. Still users of a forum so why should they be treated differently.

God you are stubborn. They do alot to help the community and site, how fucking hard is it to just try and be a bit respectful to them? Also, please name at least 3 examples of when staff treated similar situations differently because who it was targeted at that happened within the last 2 months?

Oh and i was saying the owner banned those people. While the other was probably handled by a mod or something and a mod won't randomly ban. A owner can ban whoever he wants basically.

Your point on that an owner can ban whoever he wants is how communities get destroyed. People will no longer trust an owner who is ban hungry.

And I do treat staff with respect but I don't hand a respect like free samples in a shop. I give them some respect like I do with everyone else but my respect is earned not given out.

I would also like to add that if the old owner who just changed owner a few days ago agrees that the system is biased something needs to be done.

I feel like a prime example of this occured last night. We all know avsterbone had gone around making fun of multiple users and nothing was ever done. Although bullying is not a good thing he only recieved punishment when he targeted a staff member. Why do we not punish users who mock normal members?

I never said that. I said the system in place several months ago was clearly wrong.

I stopped reading after this (I skimmed the rest).

Can you give an example where it has happened?

As Mick stated, this may have occurred a few times with Verringer as owner, but since your account was not registered at that point, and it was a long time ago, I don't think you would be referring to that.

Now about "punishment" - there is only one manual system of punishment - it's called "ban".
When a user is multi accounting or scamming, they are punished by being banned.
Warnings are not punishment, they are warnings. All warnings are predefined and have a set number of warning points.

If you call another member "a worthless piece of shit" you get warned for Disrespect/Hate/Harassment/Trolling (5 points).
If you call a staff member "a worthless piece of shit" you get warned for Disrespect/Hate/Harassment/Trolling (5 points).
I don't see any difference.

Maybe what you have seen is when someone calls another member "a worthless piece of shit" and gets warned for it, then starts to flame and disrespect the staff member that warned them and they get warned again. By this point they reach the minimum threshold for their first suspension period (an automated system in place to suspend users who have broken the rules too many times).

In the beginning, the videos just seemed to be a joke, but they got worse.
As staff, we started asking users to remove from their signatures and even had to warn some users and manually remove it.
It got to the point where the videos (such as the latest one) were just complete bashing of a single member, and action was taken accordingly. If that video was targeted at any normal member, the same would have happened.

I don't know about that one. I have a pretty strong feeling it would have just been ignored and a few warning points would have been given. The video honestly wasn't that big of a change. I mean the video before that talked about cocaine and had a "fuck" every 5 seconds.
