So how long before Mojang takes action against alternative accounts, or accounts with OP names that nobody uses.

Also how do you think they will go about freeing names up again.

I think personally that they will look for accounts who haven't logged in for a long time.
Or ones that are logged into by a lot of IP's then locking them until proof is provided, but after a certain time with no owner claiming the account just release the name or something.

Idk but I really like your semis :)
I googled "semis" and thought "I DOn'T have a TRUCk??"
Then realized maybe you are talking about my account names.

That's not all of them btw. I still have to add the others.[DOUBLEPOST=1478485659][/DOUBLEPOST]

Idk, I'd have to look at the list.
When the name change feature came out I got a lot of really nice ones and just wrote the account info on a paper and put it up.[DOUBLEPOST=1478485872][/DOUBLEPOST]I don't really care to much into the account business, they were just open names I thought were nice.
I had Rubiks, hulu, fails, and a few other nice ones that I've just changed over the year.
I think I regret Hulu change most though.

I don't think this is something mojang is worried about in the least.
If you have claimed a username it is yours until account deletion or termination.

Never.

The February 4th 2015 name release was all the unpaid non-premium accounts. You were allowed to claim a name before buying minecraft, so as a result, many good names were taken by people who didn't even have the game. They're not going to mess with the accounts of paying customers.

And if an account is locked, the name stays on the account forever until the original owner TIDs it. Then it will be changed to the old name if that's the name they put on the support ticket.

They don't really care about usernames. To them everybody is another customer who paid $26.95

Well I think to an extent that is true.
I think that sometime in the next few years they may put into play some sort of username system like steam, discord, and other platforms.

That system wouldn't be all too bad either.
I feel this way because eventually when all the 3 letter account names are lost in alt accounts or sold to people who stopped playing they will be left with names like xx09skEthan to choose, or something along the lines.
So possible to put an end to reselling minecraft they would do this, I mean they already have a UUID system in place which is perfect for this.
An end for the whole underground minecraft.
