It’s hard to say without having a definitive amount or what country the fraud has been committed in.

In the UK, you'd be placed on the National Fraud Database; which in theory would prevent you from getting any of the following: Loans, Mortgages, Current & Savings Accounts and give you a terribly shit credit score. You'd also probably not be arrested for the pure fact the public services over here are shockingly under funded.
