Well the title says it all basically, I just want to know how much I should expect to spend if I am going to make a good server that has quality plugins, hosting etc.

Please include things such as advertisement costs and development, also thank you if you respond as I personally don't have enough experience in this field to know how much I would need to prepare to launch a server in around 2 - 3 months after my end of year exams.

ADDED:
I wanted to add that I am most interested in Factions or Skyblock modes.

Thank you in advance.

High performance, consistent uptime and fast support. Minecraft hosting that just works.

Here's some advice from someone who owns a professional and custom network and has worked with many servers as a Manager.

There are different parts to developing a server. It all depends upon how serious you truly out.

1) Custom Content
Without this, what's stopping any player that joins your server from leaving for another server which actually has more custom content? Nothing! That's why this is so very important.
You need something that you haven't really seen elsewhere. I understand how hard this is - I've faced this issue myself - but there is still plenty to be done.
You'll find that all you need to develop your content cheaply is an aspiring developer who knows what they're doing (they will have room for improvement, but they should know what they're on about) who wants to build their portfolio up.
The price of plugins completely depends upon the size of them, but for the person that I've described above, for a reasonably-sized plugin, you can expect to pay around $30-$80.

2) Some Prior Knowledge
You may be able to hire people like myself and joerock777 above, who I assume is currently pitching you his management, but you need some decent knowledge of servers and their setups yourself. You can't always get someone else to do your work for you!
A great way to do this is to start a server up (one game mode) as a hobby and just learn as you go.

3) Advertising
You're going to need to advertise. The best way to usually do this is YouTubers and streamers, as we all know (already know that someone is typing a comment to tell me that I'm wrong).
To get a stream from a decent-sized streamer with around 15k, you're looking at $40 per stream. Some large YouTubers with around 265k subscribers will do videos for around $150 per video. This should help you hit 100 players.

TL;DR: It completely depends upon how serious you are and how custom you want to go. Rahul.'s estimate (no disrespect to you) of $100 to do all of this is pretty ludicrous. You're looking at a good few hundred.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for this, I used to manage servers around 2 - 3 years ago that were making around $10,000 per month but I feel like things have changed since then so your reply is helpful to me thank you.

I got a questions I saw a setup called Factions Red on the established server list, would it be a good idea for me to buy that and then spend let say another $100 - $200 on making it custom and different from all the other people that have bought the setup as I personally feel like it would be easier to go off a setup then to start from scratch [The setup costs $50 and seems solid with custom plugins][DOUBLEPOST=1582581420][/DOUBLEPOST]

If you're making a cash grab, takes like $20-30 and maybe a week of preparation + however much you're willing to spend on advertising (I'd suggest having a massive budget for this, $300 at least)
If you want a fully custom and original server, be prepared to spend 3 months minimum and $100-500 on plugins alone.

Depends, MMORPG? 25k+
Everything else is roughly 100 - 200. If it's very small, $10 would suffice.
