Those income stats are much higher than reality lol.

EDIT: Dem disagrees, you guys seem to know more than me about the income of mc-market.
I don't believe you. So I'm going to waste 10 minutes and try to go through this this. I first tried to find out how many users mcmarket has. I was unable to do that, let me know if there's a page that displays the total user count. I did find on the members page that it is 63 people's birthday today. Next I looked up birthday distribution by month and got a graph like this:
Graph4bdays1.jpg

There were a lot of general graphs like that, admittedly it's not exact. The point is June is slightly lower in births than a lot of other months because August is so high. Next, I took into account a lot of people just make their birthday january 1st because some people don't put their real birthday on a forum. Therefore, I estimate about 1/16th of the birthdays on this forum are in June and there are 30 days in June. So, 63 x 30 x 16 is the approximate amount of users on mcm. That is 30,240 or around 30,000. Let's just skim off a third of the users and come them non-factors that never log on and never bought a rank. Its down to 20,000.

Next, you said most of the users bought premium. I don't believe that. So, I went through 100 random posts to see how many of the users were premium or supreme. I got 29 regular members, 39 premium members, 3 supreme members, and 29 with premium and supreme. I looked in a lot of random sections and didn't count people twice. I guess you were right on most people having bought a rank. Out of the 20,000 estimated members 5800 are regular members, 7800 are premium members, 600 are supreme members, and 5800 are premium and supreme members. Now, let's look at the price of ranks.

So 10 for premium, 25 for supreme, and 35 for both.

10x7800 + 600x25 + 5800x35 = $296,000 in ranks alone.

Let's just cut that in half because people with premium accounts probably create more posts than people who don't have premium accounts. That's still $150,000.

Then you have 5800 users that get you ad revenue on a regular basis on top of that.

So yeah, I think you're lying.

What am I exactly lying about? Why would I lie? It's no secret that MC-Market is a business and makes a decent amount of money but I seriously have no reason to lie about it.

Adsense makes me roughly $30/day on a good day.

I don't have exact statistics for user upgrades, but I get 4-5 payments/day in my PayPal, give or take. These payments are donation medals, account upgrades and advertising. I'll be kind enough to even show my PayPal statistics as most of you guys think I make a absurd amount for some reason. Some of you go as far as doing a bunch of research just to get an estimate.

This forum also has costs. We pay roughly +$250 in server expenses and DDoS protection. I deal with alot of chargeback fees. (I pay $20 every time someone wins a chargeback, no matter the amount in question) I send a little money to staff for their efforts. I spend hundreds every month in development costs for custom addons. I have an accountant which costs me €300 per quarter. And one big thing people seem to forget, MC-Market is a business, businesses are required to pay taxes, 34% to be exact(in Belgium) +3,4% PayPal transaction fees. So that's 40% of every incoming $ that goes to my government at the end of every quarter.

So yes, MC-Market does make money. Is it profitable? Definitely not. You might be surprised but the amount of time and effort I spend is seriously not worth it. For the month April I counted a rough estimate of hours I spent working on MC-Market and my own wage came at around $7,5/hr which is under the minimum wage in most countries. This forum is a hobby, not a job or moneymaking machine.

Registered accounts incl banned users: 41k.
Premium: 1,4k members
Supreme: 362
Namecolors purchased: 641

Keep in mind, these are onetime purchases. Members buy this once, and never again. I've taken ownership at a very late stage of the forum so I didn't benefit much out of it. The biggest source of income last month was 2 hosting companies suddenly buying 6 months worth of stickies.

So there we go people, full transparency.

Before I took over, MC-Market used to make alot more as Supreme was recently added.

Some of me did go through the time to come up with an estimate. Honestly, I was just kind of bored and wanted to see if anyone would buy something because it had a graph plastered to it or if I'd get called out. A lot of the assumptions there were problematic. I figured it was a high estimate when after I posted I went through the 63 birthdays and most were new members, I didn't find one bought rank.

Anyway, thanks for the transparency, I believe you. Sorry for being annoying, boredom can be a bad thing.

I never expected it to get shot down quite like that, that was an interesting read, thanks.

Ajdin 's explanation brings me fear to run anything such as a website or server because of the risk. I know this because of all the stories, and he said he doesn't make much profit.. Now I'm wondering how to make money since I guess I'm not making server for profit anymore..

Knowing you, there is no way you'd do this if it weren't profiting. You always bitch about how we're all children screaming on a block game forum. This site definitely makes you a decent chunk of change.
He literally just showed you it all - mind you he didn't even have to do that but you all are nosy - and you still don't believe it. Its literally none of our business and doesn't effect us, but you still call him out for lying about it? You're so stubborn.

I'm actually suprised that he still pulls a bit of profit, with all the expenses and shtuff, and he definitely deserves more.

It's fairly easy to make more profit. Cut of staff payments, go with low quality hosting, go with lower end DDoS protection, stop with development stuff, do my own accountancy and I could probably save a few hundreds but that's unnecessary.

I don't want to rely on MC-Market as a source of income. It's unstable and fluctuates alot. It's more of a hobby than anything else.
